Exciting news for Cobb students and families! 🎉

The North Georgia State Fair has once again stepped up in a big way by offering a $50,000 matching gift opportunity to support the Cobb Schools Foundation’s Family Stabilization Fund. That means every dollar donated will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, doubling the impact for students and families facing financial hardship.

Through Family Stabilization, the Foundation serves as a first responder for families experiencing crises by providing assistance with housing, transportation, food security, after-school opportunities, and other urgent needs that help keep students focused on learning.

Last night, the North Georgia State Fair also recognized Superior Plumbing for an incredible 15 years as the Fair’s Presenting Sponsor. Their longstanding partnership has helped make opportunities like this possible and continues to strengthen our community.

Together, we can make a difference for Cobb students. Every gift matters—and right now, every gift goes twice as far. ❤️

The Terry Watson Scholarship was created to honor a legacy of compassion, advocacy, and service — and this year’s recipient carries those values forward in a meaningful way. ✨

Congratulations to Jose Zavala of Osborne High School for earning the Terry Watson Scholarship! Through his dedication to helping others and commitment to a future in human services, Jose exemplifies the leadership and care that defined Terry Watson’s impact on students and families for more than three decades.

Jose will attend Chattahoochee Technical College this fall, and we are excited to see the difference he will make in his community. 🎓

Today we proudly celebrated the inaugural Public Safety Scholarship awarded to two outstanding graduates, Gabrielle Brown and Jalissa Delva, from South Cobb High School pursuing futures in law enforcement and public safety.

What began as an idea from Officer Miguel Hunt, School Resource Officer at Garrett Middle School, became a community effort fueled by people who believe in investing in the next generation of those who will serve and protect others.

Through the support of generous donors — including Bison Plumbing and many others — these scholarships will help students take the next step toward careers dedicated to law and order, safety, leadership, and service.

Officer Hunt’s passion for law enforcement and mentorship reminds us how one person’s vision can create opportunities that leave a lasting impact on students and our community.

Congratulations to our scholarship recipients as they begin this important journey. We are proud of you and grateful for everyone who helped make this inaugural scholarship possible. 👏🚔

Big thanks to the following donors:

🎾 Serving Up Support for Students! 🎾

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors of the NOVA Pickleball Foundation for stepping up in a big way to support students across the Cobb County School District!

Because of your generosity, proceeds from this event will directly benefit students—helping remove barriers, expand opportunities, and ensure they have what they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Your partnership is more than a sponsorship—it’s an investment in our students’ futures and a reflection of what’s possible when a community rallies together.

We’re grateful for your commitment to making a difference. 💙

Today’s Cobb Schools Foundation Board Meeting? One for the books. 📚✨

We took meaningful action by approving additional scholarships—opening doors for students across Cobb County School District as they take the next step toward their futures. Every “yes” at that table represents opportunity, access, and a student who gets to keep moving forward.

We also leaned into an important conversation around student safety—because strong schools aren’t just about academics, they’re about creating environments where every student feels secure, supported, and ready to learn.

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better… we were treated to a special visit from some of our most beloved (and definitely cutest) staff members—the dogs. 🐶💙 Safe to say, they stole the show.

Days like today are a powerful reminder: when this community comes together, we don’t just support students—we show up for them in every way that matters.
