Washington County Chapter Ohio Genealogical Society Providing education, information about, and a community of individuals interested in genealogy of Washington County, Ohio.

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meets monthly to share information about our ancestors and their origins, local historical topics and how to locate ones ancestors. We also provide a public informational website, a list of regional sources for purchase, and a free quarterly newsletter for members.

September 19, 2026 – Workshop on using familysearch.com with Deb Root Shell, limited to 20 attendees – REGISTER with Sharon if you would like to join, it should last two hours, and you should bring a laptop computer

October 17, 2026 – David Baker, Topic TBD

November 21, 2026 at 10AM – Legacy Library at Marietta College

No meetings December through February

March 2027 – Topic TBD (first meeting after break)

When: Saturday, 20 June 2026. 12 p.m.
Where: Southeast Ohio History Center, 24 West State Street, Athens, Ohio.

We will meet at the Genealogy Center & Levering Library, 2nd floor of the History Center.

Parking is in the lot behind the History Center. Please enter through the side entrance to the History Center on North Congress Street.

If you have not reserved your spot, contact Sharon Gardner to see if you are still able to attend.

July 18th meeting will return to the Washington County Library on 5th St. in Marietta, OH.

Save the Date! Saturday, May 16th -- First Families of Washington County Annual Luncheon at 12:30pm. We will meet at the Reno Community Center (260 Sandhill Rd). Please bring a dish to share.
