Catlanta Care Catlanta Care is a domestic non-profit with a goal of saving lives through trap-neuter-return of com

Our goal is to reduce the number of kittens born outside each year by stabilizing colonies of cats in the metro-Atlanta area. We take requests from caregivers of colonies and our volunteers will work with the caregivers to TNR the colony and provide the caregiver resources to support our mission. We want to educate the community on the benefits of TNR and encourage them to be involved. We are not a rescue, nor do we have a shelter, therefore we are unable to take in cats. We are able to point you in the right direction and provide you with TNR resources!

Goodbye Thunder. 😢

Today we had to make the tough decision to let Thunder cross the rainbow bridge. He tested positive for FeLV and had fluid in his lungs making it difficult for him to breathe.

Last year, Catlanta Care helped Thunder’s community feeder get about half of the colony spayed and neutered while another TNR organization helped with the remaining cats. We also helped place 5 adults and 4 kittens into rescues after getting them fully vetted.

The hardest thing about TNvR work is knowing these cats have about 1-3 year lifespans when living outdoors.

I’m grateful for our donors as their donations allowed us to send Thunder to BARANIK ANIMAL CARE for an assessment and to end his pain.

After a week at BARANIK ANIMAL CARE, Gia is doing much better. I drove to Suwannee to pick her up today. She is a beautiful girl who deserves a family and an indoor life.

Catlanta Care will sponsor her 2nd round of boosters and we are hoping her feeder will be able to get her and her two kittens into a rescue.

Stallion and Kelly came to Catlanta Care on June 24th with their kittens, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
They spent 89 days in our care. Today, they are one step closer to finding a new family thanks to PAWS Atlanta for accepting them into their rescue today.

It is never easy saying “Goodbye” when they have spent so much time with you and they begin to trust again but “goodbye is the goal” so we can help other cats.

Many thanks to our donors for your support and your donations which allowed us to fully vet Stallion and Kelly. They will be on the adoption floor at Paws.

I got back from Philly this morning with a TNR plea in my messages.
A feeder has about 20 cats she feeds in her backyard. She worked with a trapper to get all but one elusive female.
Unfortunately, unspayed cats keep having kittens. I’m glad she was able to trap the kittens as they can get pregnant as early as 4 months.
I named them Tex, Bonnet, Bevo. (🎵She”s from Texas, I can tell…🎵🎵)
Timing is everything. I had four slots for four different people and none of them were able to trap their elusive cat.

Gia had her spay yesterday.
She was pregnant so Good Mews Animal Foundation did a spay abort. At 2am I received text messages from her feeder, June, about Gia’s condition. She had become lethargic and wasn’t eating.
When we spay and neuter a cat we have to be prepared for complications. Outdoor cats have a higher risk with recovery since they aren’t cared for consistently.
My morning was detoured to driving Gia to BARANIK ANIMAL CARE In Suwannee, 45 minute drive without traffic from my house. As this vet is always booked, the best we can do is drop her off and they will work her into their schedule which means I will do another 1.5 round trip for pickup.

Meet Gia, Mari, and Etta.

Gia came with the house that June and her family moved into. Gia gave birth to Mari and Etta in April. June reached out to Good Mews Animal Foundation and with some coordination with us, we guided June through getting Cobb county spay vouchers for Gia and Mari. Catlanta Care will pay for the difference in their services along with sponsoring Etta’s spay package.

June has never had cats and doesn’t know how to care for cats but she does have compassion and knows the best thing for this family is to get them spayed and she knows getting them fully vetted helps in getting them into a rescue.

To our donors, thank you for giving us the opportunity to help stop the endless cycle of kittens being born outside.
