🎈On Saturday, August 22, our North River HOPE Chapter volunteers invaded Youth Villages in Douglasville, Georgia! Our volunteers put on birthday aprons and hosted four birthday parties for the elementary age children living on campus. The children played games, read stories, and enjoyed paper and pencil cupcakes to celebrate the August birthdays! Not only did the children have a great time — so did our volunteers!

SO grateful for these amazing volunteers who love, encourage, and mentor many at risk youth at the Center for Children and Young Adults! Also...super thankful for the North River Church's many Family Groups who provide monthly POPP Packs (Power of Peace Project) backpacks filled with practical and helpful items for these youths! The Ozim and Sadoff Family Groups generously donated these items for the months of June and July! SO awesome! :)

Our dear brother Dave Tomlinson will be so deeply missed! He will always and forever be a hero in my heart because of how he lived and loved like Jesus. He was a gentle giant who reflected God's love, kindness, compassion, and wisdom so genuinely throughout the world. We are praying for Angela and her family during this most tender time. 🙏

🎈Things happened fast for our Birthday Heroes on Saturday, July 25th! Placing a cupcake, ice cream, and drink before a child, and like magic… it is gone! The children are ready for it! Each month our North River HOPE Chapter volunteers host birthday parties for the elementary age children at Youth Villages in Douglasville, GA, who are celebrating a birthday within that month. Volunteers take with them games, stories, activity pages, treats, and simple gifts for the birthday child. Not only does it become a wonderful, special time for the children, but the Birthday Heroes love making friends with the children as well!

Our North River HOPE Chapter loves the work of Love Beyond Walls in Atlanta, Georgia! On Saturday, July 18th, several of our volunteers were able to assist Love Beyond Walls in opening up a resource center at Bear Creek Middle School. Here is what Destiny had to share, “Saturday was such a great time getting to serve at Love Beyond Wall’s next Zion’s Closet. We got to sort through hundreds of donated clothing items, help paint a mural, and assist in standing up the resource closet which will serve hundreds of middle schoolers and their families. We are so grateful every time we get to partner with this organization to do meaningful and empowering work!”

After monitoring the latest weather forecast, the decision has been made to extend the MUST Hope House Cooling Center through Wednesday, July 22.

The Cooling Center will be open today, July 20, through Wednesday, July 22, from noon to 6:30 p.m. each day.

Guests have access to a safe, air-conditioned space as well as lunch and dinner.

Please help us spread the word to anyone who may need a place to cool down and stay safe.
