Love That Corrals and Corrects

Hebrews 12:5-13; Revelation 3:19

Our God is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one. His corralling love pursues us when we wander, wrapping strong arms around us and drawing us close. But love also corrects. “Whom the Lord loves, He chastens.” This isn’t punishment, it’s refinement.

God corrects to keep us from becoming lame, to heal us, and to guide our feet in paths of peace. True love speaks truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. In a culture that calls boundaries “unloving,” remember that limits are gifts. The most loving thing someone can do is lovingly confront error before it destroys.

Have you experienced God’s corralling presence lately, that sudden awareness of Him in your car or on your porch?

The Love That Transforms

1 John 3:1-3; John 3:16

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us.” These words invite us to pause and marvel at God’s lavish love. The litmus test of genuine transformation isn’t eloquent speech, mystical knowledge, or even mountain-moving faith, it’s love. God’s love isn’t something we manufacture; it’s something we receive and reflect.

Like a vessel that can only pour out what’s been poured in, we must position ourselves before the Source.

Today, examine your love level. Are you spending time in God’s presence, allowing His love to fill you? The world will recognize you as His child not by your bumper stickers, but by the unmistakable mark of divine love flowing through you. Ask God to lavish His love upon your heart afresh today.
