Over the last two decades, hitting has changed.

From 2005–2015, the traditional approach emphasized putting the ball in play, line drives, hitting for average, and moving runners. “ The old school approach” Launch angle wasn’t a major part of everyday hitting instruction.

Then the goal shifted from simply making contact to making the best possible contact.

Hitters began training to create more optimal launch angles while maximizing exit velocity. This resulted in home runs increasing dramatically, while batting average and on-base percentage declining.

The modern hitter has more information than ever before. The challenge is figuring out how to use that information without sacrificing the fundamentals of hitting.

THE QUESTION 👇

Has the launch-angle revolution made hitters better — or has the game become too focused on hitting the ball in the air?

Old school approach vs. modern hitting focusing on Launch angle and exit velocity — what are your thoughts?

BIG congrats to our Summer Series prize winners Reigan & Landon who each got to take home a sweet new Bonesaber Warstick and Rawlings Mantra bat!

These 2 showed up each session with such a great attitude, insane effort, great teamwork and encouragement, and made a huge improvement in their speed, broad jump, vertical jump, power and agility skills.

Proud to have them in the Better Ball fam 🥎 💛 ⚾️

The Game Is Bigger Than Baseball & Softball ⚾️🥎❤️

At Better Ball Training Co., we believe the game is about so much more than fielding, hitting, and throwing.

Those skills matter. They help you compete. They help you improve. But one day, every athlete will play their last game.

What lasts long after the final out are the lessons the game teaches:
• How to work when no one is watching.
• How to overcome failure and keep showing up.
• How to be a great teammate.
• How to lead with humility.
• How to celebrate others’ success.
• How to handle adversity with character.
• How to build friendships that become family.

Trophies collect dust. Rings get put away. Stats are eventually forgotten.

But the friendships, memories, work ethic, confidence, resilience, and character you build through this game will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Our mission has never been just to develop better baseball and softball players.

Our mission is to help develop better people.

If our athletes leave us with stronger character, lifelong friendships, and a love for the game, then we’ve done our job.

The hits, the home runs, the tanks, and even the college scholarships? Those are just the bonus.

Better Ball Training Co.

Train the athlete.
Build the person.
Leave the game better than you found it.

💥 BIG SHOUTOUT 💥

Congrats on a big performance out of our Better Ballers Maddie and Elena in last night’s 15-3 victory over Cactus Foothills.

Elena was lights out on the mound striking out 8 while also helping her team at the plate with a line drive to center field.

Maddie dominated with 2 triples, 4 RBI’s, drawing a walk, and a stellar performance behind the plate.
