No Forgotten Kids We're proving that quality education for the world's poorest children is not only possible — it's economically sustainable. Many challenges exist.

Through innovation, not perpetual aid. Instead of "how much does it cost?" we ask "how do we design schools that fund themselves?" We think that kids in pain deserve help wherever they are. That’s why we have made it our mission to give kids in the most forgotten places hope for the future.

800 million people cannot read or write, mostly kids - leaving them condemned to live in extreme poverty. While a world-wide effort is underway to eradicate illiteracy, there are children who still fall through the cracks, children beyond the reach of schools and teachers. Little on the ground knowledge exists for implementing low cost alternatives on a wide spread basis. Many options are available. Comparative testing is essential if we are to squeeze out every last dollar of waste. The most effective way to reduce illiteracy is to reduce the cost - but not the quality - of education. No Forgotten Kids believes that combinations of low cost learning techniques and alternative technologies can drive down the cost dramatically and give a quality education to the worst off kids in the most forgotten places. No Forgotten Kids is currently building and renovating two schools in Haiti with a third under way equipped with computer labs testing e-learning options. Other progress includes:

-translating existing e-learning courses
-using existing French learning courses in upper grades
-exploring solar energy to power computers
-sending donated computers from Florida to Haiti
-sponsoring a contest to select Haiti’s Best Teachers

One of the Blueprint’s planned interventions is a school agriculture enterprise. Students will eat what they grow in the school’s farms and gardens, and any surplus will be sold to the community, bringing fresh local produce to families. The revenue goes right back into the school. It’s how we’ll make sure no child goes hungry and every student can flourish.

On , the most powerful anti-hunger intervention is a school designed to stay open.

Last week, Edith Scott, Executive Director of No Forgotten Kids, announced a Commitment to Action at the Clinton Global Initiative's Haiti Action Network Working Session.

Our commitment focuses on bringing solar energy and clean water infrastructure to our campus in Milot and led by Lead Haiti - Compassion For Humanity. These are foundational interventions in A BLUEPRINT FOR EDUCATIONAL AUTONOMY, authored by NFK Founder, Frank Shooster. Solar and water unlock multiple other interventions across the campus, and when fully implemented, the model projects a surplus that gets reinvested into quality improvements and expansion.

NFK now joins over 100 organizations in the CGI Haiti Action Network working to strengthen education, health, and economic development across Haiti. We're grateful to be part of this network and look forward to learning, sharing, and partnering.

This week at the Clinton Global Initiative, No Forgotten Kids made our first Commitment to Action: solar energy and a clean water purification system at Académie Lead Haiti in Milot. Solar runs the campus and the water system. Water produces 6,000 gallons per day and serves over 1,200 community members, generating the school's first revenue.

These are the foundation for what comes next: a farm, bakery, water ATM, and two spoke schools closer to the children. While we were in New York, CEO of Lead Haiti - Compassion For Humanity, Jose, and his team, were in Narcisse prepping the site for the first spoke school.
That's commitment on the ground.

Solar Energy Sales. This intervention generates revenue via surplus solar energy sold to neighboring communities through metered connections or charging stations, leveraging the school's oversized solar array designed for dual-shift operations.

Water Purification Sales: This intervention creates metered clean water dispensing stations at hubs which serve the community. A nominal fee collected for the water access generates sustainable revenue while addressing a critical community need.
