Fellowship Recovery Community Organization

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization Fellowship RCO strives to end discrimination and remove barriers to recovery. Recovery is the solution to addiction. EIN: 81-0748392.

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization (RCO) envisions a world where the power, hope, and healing of recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions is thoroughly understood and embraced. We work to end discrimination and remove barriers to recovery through advocacy, education and service. Our goal is to help those in recovery maintain and sustain their recovery regardless of the pathway while

ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect. Your support will help us fulfill our mission to serve Broward residents and their families in recovery from addiction. Fellowship Foundation provides a variety of support services designed to promote community health and wellness through awareness, prevention, and education. Addiction has been identified by US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy as the leading health care crisis facing our nation. Recovery Community Organizations such as Fellowship RCO are recognized by both the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as playing a vital role in promoting community wellness. All residents of Broward County will benefit from this mission. We invite you to support Fellowship Recovery Community Organization's Recovery Community Center Campaign. As Broward County’s first and only RCO, registered with the Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO), Fellowship operates a physical space for connecting all persons in recovery to services and support helpful to their particular circumstance or need. Fellowship Recovery Community Organization is a 501c3.

A huge thank you to Lucas and his friends from American Heritage School for organizing a sporting event fundraiser in support of FRCO and The Respite!

Their goal was to help provide much-needed hygiene products and basic necessities for individuals entering our Respite Program, and their generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Having the opportunity to talk with these young men and answer their questions was especially impactful. It was encouraging to see a younger generation that is aware of the social issues surrounding substance use disorders, the unhoused, and the challenges faced by underserved individuals in our community. They were thoughtful, engaged, and unafraid to ask questions and learn more about the people affected and the organizations working to help.

Thank you, fellas, for your support, compassion, and commitment to making a difference. We look forward to partnering with you on future projects and seeing the positive impact you’ll continue to make in our community!

Fellowship RCO was privileged to network with Destination Hope, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) during Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

It was an honor to speak on su***de prevention and provide individuals, family members, and our communities with valuable education, awareness, and access to important mental health resources - including support for those living with mental health challenges and co-occurring substance misuse disorders. Conversations like these help break stigmas, encourage hope, and remind others they are never alone. 🫶

Together, we can continue building safer, stronger, and more supportive communities through education, advocacy, and connection. 🌎✨

We’re grateful to welcome a new community partner, 27Sandwiches

Members of their team stopped by our Margate Recovery Center this week with an incredible donation of fresh sandwiches, bottled water, and cookies to help support individuals in our recovery residences and respite program.

This kind of support goes beyond meeting basic needs. It creates connection, reminds people they are seen, and strengthens the sense of community that is so important in recovery.

Partnerships like this make a real difference, and we’re thankful to work alongside organizations that are committed to showing up and giving back.

Broward County | Help Shape What Recovery Looks Like in Our Community

At Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, we believe the people closest to the work should help guide the solutions.

Right now, Broward County is gathering input to help determine how opioid abatement funding is prioritized. This is a real opportunity to make sure recovery, prevention, and community needs are reflected in the next phase of the Opioid Action Plan.

We encourage our community, partners, and peers to share their voice in the areas that matter most:

🔹 Prevention Priorities

🔹 Environmental Conditions Priorities
https://www.menti.com/al4urptcq84i

🔹 Treatment & Recovery Systems Priorities
https://www.menti.com/alc3cpdg1pc9

You can complete all three or focus on the area that aligns most with your experience.

It only takes a few minutes. Your input helps ensure funding decisions reflect what is actually needed on the ground.

At Fellowship, we see every day how connection, access, and community-based recovery supports change lives. This is a chance to advocate for more of what works.

Let’s make sure recovery is part of the conversation.

We were proud to attend and host a resource table at Atlantic Technical College’s Open House in Margate, connecting with over 500 prospective students and families exploring their next steps in education.

Through our Back 2 School Program, Fellowship RCO is committed to supporting individuals in recovery as they pursue their educational goals. We shared information on recovery support services, enrollment navigation, and community resources that help reduce barriers and promote long-term stability.

Our team had meaningful conversations about peer support, basic needs assistance, and pathways to success for those navigating recovery, including individuals experiencing housing instability or crisis. While naloxone distribution was not permitted onsite, we provided education on its life-saving role in overdose prevention and how to access it through our recovery community centers.

Grateful for the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with local educators and continue building a recovery-friendly community where everyone has the support they need to thrive.

The breeze was strong tonight, but so were we 🌕🌊

Every month we attend this Full Moon Beach Meditation as a way to bring us together in the sand, under the glow of the moon, grounded, present, and connected. Tonight, the wind did not distract us, it became part of the experience, reminding us to breathe, release, and flow with whatever comes.

Moments like this are powerful in recovery. Slowing down, being present, and connecting with others helps quiet the mind, reduce stress, and build the kind of inner strength that supports long term healing. Community, mindfulness, and shared intention are all part of the journey.

Grateful for every soul who showed up, sat in stillness, and shared this energy together.

Same moon. Same intention. Stronger every month ✨

Today, Sara Barkley, CEO of Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, and Dean Pasquale, Director of Peer Support, presented at the Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement in Sanford.

Their presentation highlighted the powerful collaboration between Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, in developing an innovative jail-based peer support program.

This initiative provides recovery support services, education, and vital connections to community-based providers for incarcerated individuals and their families, ensuring continuity of care both inside the jail and upon reentry into the community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony and his outstanding team at the Broward Sheriff’s Office 🚔, the Florida Department of Children and Families, as well as the dedicated peer specialists at Fellowship Recovery Community Organization 💙 and the Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement. Your leadership, partnership, and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact in the fight against the opioid crisis. 💪🌟

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization was proud to be out in the community for a powerful day of service and connection.

Sara and Eric represented Fellowship RCO at Compassionate Care Saturdays, an outreach event hosted by Changing Lives North Broward at Zion – Ministries Under the Cross in Fort Lauderdale. This community-driven event brings together organizations and volunteers to provide support, resources, and compassionate care to individuals and families in need.

Compassionate Care Saturdays are rooted in meeting people where they are, offering essentials like health resources, referrals, and meaningful human connection in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Events like this help break down barriers to care and create pathways to hope, healing, and recovery.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community partners and continue extending recovery support beyond our walls. 💚
