Parents, teachers, students and the Margate community explored hands-on activities, discovered career opportunities in aviation, and engaged with innovative STEM projects.

Dennard Mitchell showed our students, parents, community and teachers the importance of being responsible for their actions at all times. Why it’s important to show respect for self and students from different cultures and backgrounds. He taught them how to apply techniques that will equip them to empower themselves and their peers.
Dennard gave practical demonstrations of acts of kindness that our students could implement immediately following their assembly.
Lastly, our students, parents, teachers, and community walked away knowing how powerful it is to live a life being compassionate, healthy, and happy.

Refugee Olympic Team

Boxer Cindy Ngamba has made history by becoming the first athlete competing as a refugee to clinch an Olympic medal.
Created in 2015, consisting of 10 athletes, the Refugee Olympic Team competed for the first time at the Rio 2016 games

The film 20 Days in Mariupol won Oscar for the Best Documentary!

The film by Mstyslav Chernov and Yevhen Malolietka tells the story of the brutal siege of Mariupol by russian, which resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. It shows the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the bombing of the maternity hospital, and the rescue of journalists from the besieged city.

Prevent Violence Against Women & Girls! Excuse

Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. Globally, an estimated 736 million women — almost one in three — have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both, at least once in their life.

This scourge has intensified in different settings, including the workplace and online spaces, and has been exacerbated by post-pandemic effects, conflicts, and climate change.

The solution lies in robust responses, including investment in prevention. However, alarmingly, data on how much nations are committing to counteract violence against women and girls remains glaringly sparse.

Ukraine
The head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, Matilda Bogner, deplored on Thursday that “civilians, including children, continue to pay a heavy price” in the war.
UN humanitarian coordinator Denise Brown also highlighted the “devastating impact” of the war on the mental health and well-being of children, “including millions who have had to flee for their lives”.
She pledged the humanitarian community’s support to Ukraine’s children “for as long as it is necessary.”
“Behind every death there is an immeasurable human tragedy. This must stop now,” she said.
Unilever profits in Russia have doubled from $60 million in 2021 to more than $120 million n 2022. Also, in 2022, Unilever LLC paid about $50 million in taxes to the Russia budget.

Exercising regularly and practicing mindfulness, eating healthy foods, ensuring you get enough sleep, and limiting your alcohol intake can all contribute to improved mental health, which is a key part of your well-being.
