Message from AOGC: Covid has had so many negative stories. Well here’s finally a GOOD heart warming story:
What a comeback! We are so incredibly proud of our gymnastics team!! These ladies just ROCKED it at their first gymnastics meet in over a year! They have been though a lot with the pandemic and actually did not even have ANY apparatus for 11 MONTHS while we waited for our new Academy to open! These girls continued to work virtual classes, worked on dance and flexibility technique at our former temporary location (one night a week only!) This is the ABSOLUTE truest form of perseverance! These girls were only able to get into our new Academy just 5 weeks ago and on the apparatus. And yesterday they entered their first meet in 13 months and came back with the HIGHEST all around scores of the entire gymnastics meet! Just .2 tenths of a point separating the highest score of the day (Haylie R 36.85) and 2nd overall highest score of the day (Kaira G 36.60)!
Also, in the Copper 1 division Caroline K was the highest score of all age divisions! Beth H came as an event specialist to try out a meet. She competed on one event- Vault, and scored an 8.55!
These girls are proof of how focusing in class and applying themselves in training can be rewarded!! Their coaches Miss Alicia for equipment, and Miss Carlee for dance are to be commended!
These young athletes are definitely PROOF that Our Comeback Is Better Than Our Setback!!
