After yesterday’s Scholarship Ceremony, Dean Ojeda finally got a well-earned moment to sit down.

The staff at Marfa ISD work tirelessly to make sure seniors and their families have a meaningful and memorable final few weeks before graduation and the exciting journeys ahead. This year, the 16 graduates of the Class of 2026 earned more than $260,000 in scholarships from local businesses, community organizations, generous individuals, and the colleges they will soon attend.

Congratulations to the Class of ’26, their families, the teachers and staff at Marfa ISD, and all of the community partners who helped support these students along the way. Your hard work, encouragement, and investment in their futures made this moment possible.

Superintendent Search 2026
Thank you for your interest in the Superintendent position at Marfa ISD. We have compiled a list of qualifications for our next Superintendent and the application is now available. Please be advised that all applications and supporting documents must be received by Thursday, May 28, 2026 @ 4:00 p.m. (CST).

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Texas Superintendent certificate required
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in education with classroom teaching
experience required
• Superintendent experience preferred
• Central Office and/or Campus Administration experience required
• Residence within Marfa ISD required
• Doctorate degree preferred

MEF is proud to support Marfa ISD teachers on their path to certification. This year, we handed out our first reimbursement scholarships to Mrs. Loya and Ms. Hinojos, who are pursuing certification on their own time and expense.
