🔥 TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY! 🔥

The Fireflies and Lake Gogebic Fire Department have been working HARD all week to make tomorrow’s event an amazing one! 🚒❤️

And this year, we’re adding a little extra fun for the kiddos — we even have a bounce house! 🏰🎉

We seriously can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow! And we want to say THANK YOU already for the incredible outpouring of support we’ve received. It truly does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everyone who has donated, sponsored, volunteered, shared, or simply shown up to support our local fire department. ❤️

Every great tradition has to start somewhere...
We're excited to introduce the Chicken Lady as the official mascot of the Lake Gogebic Firemen's Picnic!

It all started with one hilarious chicken costume and a lot of laughs. We couldn't let it end there, so the Chicken Lady is here to represent everything we love about the picnic—great food, community, fun, and a tradition that's been bringing people together for 35 years.

Whether you're coming for the famous grilled chicken dinner, raffles, silent auction, pie auction, door prizes, or just to spend the day with family and friends, we can't wait to see you!

Did you know the Fireflies Auxiliary has adopted a section of highway and our ladies volunteer their time to keep it clean?

A huge thank you to Jennifer Burla, Wendy Davis, Jeanette Huge, and Tasha Weber for heading out on June 19th to help keep our highway clean and beautiful for everyone who travels through our community.

Your hard work, dedication, and pride in our area do not go unnoticed. Thank you for helping make a difference and for representing the Fireflies Auxiliary so well!

Join the Lake Gogebic Fireflies Auxiliary during Tour Da Lake on June 20th for our Bake Sale!

We'll have a variety of homemade treats, baked goods, and sweet surprises available for purchase.

Did you know the Lake Gogebic Volunteer Fire Department has been proudly serving our community for decades? 🚒❤️

The department operates out of the West Shore station and covers more than 325 square miles around the Lake Gogebic area. With a small but dedicated team of volunteer firefighters, they respond to everything from structure fires and vehicle accidents to boating emergencies, snowmobile incidents, ice rescues, and forest fires.

Living in the U.P., we all know how important volunteer departments are — especially in rural communities like ours where neighbors helping neighbors truly matters.

One of the department’s biggest traditions is the annual Fireman’s Picnic fundraiser, which has been bringing the community together for more than 35 years. Events like this help raise money for essential equipment and vehicles that keep the department ready to respond when needed most.

Along with the incredible support from the Fireflies, the department has also been able to expand community safety efforts by helping provide AED equipment, ice rescue kits, and CPR training opportunities for local businesses and community members throughout the area. These programs and tools make a real difference when every second counts.

From longtime locals to seasonal visitors, countless people have relied on the hard work and dedication of these volunteers over the years.
Their commitment helps keep the Lake Gogebic area safe year-round through every season the Upper Peninsula of Michigan throws our way.

A huge thank you to all past and present members of the Lake Gogebic Volunteer Fire Department for the time, sacrifice, and service you give to our community. 🚒🇺🇸
