What do scouts from Troop 51 & members from Mohawk Valley Lions Club, Springfield Lions Club, Helping Hand, and Mohawk Valley LEOs Club all have in common?

They show up and SERVE this community. We had a total of 13 volunteers of all ages, yesterday morning picking up trash along Marcola Rd from Hill Rd (by Mohawk Community Church) all the way to Parsons Creek Road. A near 3 mile stretch. And came out with a huge pile of trash!

If you would like to join in next time, we will be joining the scouts from Pack 88 & Troop 51 at their cemetery clean ups, Saturday May 9th at 9am. Several cemetries that day we will be serviced, but starting at Marcola Pioneer Cemetery at the end of Adam's Rd. They will be mowing, w**d wacking, picking up branches, & placing flags on Veteran's graves for Memorial Day.

We recieved 192 responses during our voting window this week.
In 1st place is 92323 Marcola Rd (Pat Land)
In 2nd place is 95122 Marcola Rd (Acme Acres Adult Foster Care)

Their displays were spectacular, what a way to end the holiday season and step into 2026!

We were finding how to navigate our 1st Holiday Light Tour this year. Thank you all who put up displays, spread the word, partipated in voting, and whom took the tour.

The Mohawk Valley Lions Club invites you to end the holiday season tonight and tomorrow (Friday 01/02 & 01/03 5-9pm) with their Mohawk Valley Holiday Lights Tour.

There are over 130 addresses lit & decorated in the valley, some of those have signed up to be apart of a contest, where YOU get to vote on your favorite. Heres how to vote:

Displays range from simple to nostalgic, to extravagant. Load your family up and take a peaceful scenic drive through the valley. Use our map to plan what roads to take, plan ahead as there are no cell service spots!

Reminder if you live in the Mohawk Valley and have lights or decor up on the outside of your house text your address to 541-556-9207. All you do is have your display up and on during the light tour Jan 2nd & 3rd 5-9pm both days.

Update: Needs to be rescheduled. Reach out with a time and day that you can help between now and mid November if you want to help.

We will be doing a road clean up along Marcola Rd from Parsons Creek Rd to Hill Rd. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 24th in the evening. We are looking for volunteers, the more we have the faster the clean up happens. We are meeting at the Helping Hand building at 5pm.

Last time we cleaned up the road we found over 100 empty bottles of whiskey (we counted)! Help us clean up our community. Here are some photos of our last clean up 👀
