🥬 HARVEST DAY AT HARVEST OASIS! 🥬

💐As part of our Nourish SWFL Program, yesterday our amazing volunteers harvested fresh produce, created beautiful produce bouquets, and shared them completely FREE with the community at our Harvest Oasis Community Garden located at Lee Health Healthy Life Center Coconut Point.

💚 Thank you to every volunteer who worked hard to harvest and prepare the bouquets, water the garden, and replant all of our tower gardens so we can keep growing even more fresh food for our community.

🌊 75.4 POUNDS REMOVED

This past Saturday, students from Florida Gulf Coast University joined us at Bunche Beach to celebrate FGCU's WOW Day and together we removed more than 75 pounds of debris from Bunche Beach in Fort Myers Beach, FL.

The heat was intense ☀️, but so was their commitment as we continue finding debris left behind by past hurricanes and storms.

💚 Yesterday was a beautiful day of community and stewardship at our Veggie Village Community Garden in Naples! 🌱💚

💪🏾 We had the privilege of working alongside volunteers from Florida Gulf Coast University and Youth Haven during our garden maintenance day. Together, we cleaned out our tower gardens, cared for the space, and got everything ready for what comes next. 🌿

💧🌧️ One thing we are especially proud of: we watered the entire garden using harvested rainwater. 💧🌧️ With Southwest Florida currently experiencing drought conditions, being able to conserve our water resources while continuing to care for the food we grow means so much to us.

This is exactly why our The Healthy Earth Org Cultiva Community Urban Farm + Market need to become a reality in Southwest Florida ASAP!

When the cost of feeding a family continues to rise, access to fresh, healthy food cannot be something we simply hope improves.

We have to build local solutions.

Cultiva is our vision for growing food right here in our community, supporting local farmers, creating opportunities for young people, and making fresh food more accessible and affordable for the families who call Southwest Florida home.

We can’t control the price of food across the country. But we can change how food reaches our own community. 🌱

That is what we are working toward.

🌊 215 POUNDS Removed! 🌊

💪🏾 Today, our volunteers came together at Vanderbilt Beach in Naples and removed an incredible 215.1 pounds of marine and coastal debris from our shoreline!

Among the items removed were:
🥤 - different plastics
🚬 - cigarette butts
🍾 - glass bottles
🎣 - fishing debris
🧱 - and a brick. 🧱

☀️ A Beautiful Morning at Harvest Oasis! ☀️

✨ Yesterday was such a great morning at our Harvest Oasis Community Garden at Lee Health Coconut Point in Estero!

🌱 Our volunteers helped refresh the garden by adding mulch to the garden beds, cleaning up the space, and giving our Tower Gardens some much-needed water.
And the most exciting part… our towers are already blooming!

We are so grateful to the supporters of our garden and Nourish SWFL program as they are the ones that allow us to provide free fresh food access to our local community through these efforts:
