If I were to do a raffle for knives, what kind of knives would you want to buy tickets for? I am looking at 4 knives total. Raffle will not be held until knives are complete.
More details to follow.

I may have a bit of a problem. I love to forge but I hate the finish work. Or maybe I have ADD. I dont know. There are more knives that are not in the picture as well.
The 2 left knives and one chefs knife (no pictured) are a custom order and are my first priorities!

Well, so far everything looks good. 2.5 hour roast at 1980°f and starting to forge it out. This is the point at which I usually fail with this.
Going to play with temperatures 2ith a hammer to see how it feels before moving to my tire hammer.

Another failure in the making of wootz steel. Either I didnt have a good ingot, (most likely) or I am forging at the wrong temperature.

Remelting a wootz ingot I tried a few weeks ago. I figure I can't hurt the ingot anymore and it is a good test to see if it can be fixed and to see how my furnace performs after I cut over 4" off the hight. 25 minutes and am sitting at almost 2500°f. This furnace has a lot of thermal mass to it with 4" of 2700°f kaowool and about an inch and a half of refractory cement.

Well, it is finally complete. Sheath is done and feels comfortable.
Final specs:
Twisted damascus blade, cocobola scales, paracord with polished deer antler for a pull rope and a hand stitched leather sheath.
To be honest, this sheath was actually a fun little build. 5 pieces in total but fun none the less!

A little photo dump here of the knives I have completed. Sorry if some are not in order.

Here is my first twisted damascus knife. The blade is too small to see the twist, or I didn't twist it enough. But it has cocobola scales. Just needs a sheath and edge and it is ready for its new home.

Spent a vacation day to work in my shop on my furnace and try to get a complete melt.
Third time is hopefully the charm.
I ended up with a good ingot and it appears to have a pattern.
Hopefully I can turn it into something.
