📸 Thank you to everyone who came out to race, crew, volunteer, and cheer at the PHRF New England Championship Regatta at Boston Yacht Club.
After 26 years, the Championship is back — and it's back because of you.
PHRF New England exists to bring the sailing community together at every level: seasoned racers, weekend sailors, and everyone just discovering the sport. This weekend was a reminder of exactly why that matters.
We're so grateful for everyone who helped make it happen. And we're just getting started. 🌊
The PHRF New England Championship Regatta returns in 2027. Stay tuned for the hosting club and all event details — we can't wait to see you on the starting line.

2026 PHRFNE CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA

PHRFNE wants to thank everyone who helped make this regatta happen. A lot of people worked very hard and their efforts paid off.
PHRF delivered a first class regatta.
Excellent race committee work in challenging conditions.
Moorings and dock space was provided for all participants.
Great launch service.
Marblehead is always a great town with easy access to restaurants, bars and grocery stores all within easy walking distance.
The tent was a great place to hang out and never a problem getting food and drink.
The band Saturday night did a great job. With all the racing etc, people still get up and dance.
We are off to a get start. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.
This is a race for the racers and people who love sailing.
Going forward we will work to always improve the experience.
Right now I see 2 types of regattas going on.
1. Is the same old thing. Race is on Regattaman or Yacht Scoring and its basic racing with some yacht club function at cost of about $50.00 per race. These races struggle with participation and talk about how sailboat racing is dying.
2. Races like Figawi are promoted year round with often a paid group promoting it. They get way more boats than the same old thing regatta. They also get way more participation. They get sponsors but their costs run high and the cost of doing the race can be high. Most people leave these regattas thinking what a great experience.

In the PHRF Championship regatta we want to deliver the high end regatta experience at a non crazy price.
Our entry fee was $250.00 which included the racing, a mooring if needed, 4 bracelets for a total of 8 meals at BYC, the band, and drink sponsors.
We wanted a lower entry fee but the costs where there. Luckly we got some great sponsors which allow us to fund the costs being way more than the entry fee.
Again everyone who contributed to this event was fantastic and we will continue to build this event.
