πŸ”Ή Meet Anne πŸ”Ή
Anne is a full-time nurse and a professional physically integrated dancer living with a spinal cord injury.

Through our Stronger Together Grant Program, Anne has been able to advance her rehabilitation beyond conventional therapies, working with specialized Pilates instructors and using clinical equipment to build strength for the stage and endurance for everyday life.

In her own words:
"I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you and all of your donors. This has come at a very special time in my life and I will forever be thankful for this opportunity… With the support of the TESF, I am taking steps to become an internationally accredited Pilates instructor (PMA-ITTAP) in an effort to share with others the gift of healing Pilates has given me."

Anne, we can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you. πŸ’šπŸ’™

Your generosity makes journeys like Anne's possible. Together, we're stronger.

Congratulations to Kandie Hale, recipient of the 2026 Stepping Forward Together Award, presented at our 16th Annual TESF Golf Classic banquet.

Kandie has been part of TESF since 2013. She founded Hockey Moms Against Injury and rallied support for the Look-Up Line, which is now installed in rinks across the country to reduce catastrophic head and neck injuries.

From advocate to Director on our advisory board, as our Executive Director & COO Sarah McNeil Merrefield put it: "Kandie has been with the Foundation through every stage of its growth, and has never waited to be asked to help."

Thank you for everything you have given TESF and the people we serve kandieegirl. We would not be the organization we are today without your continued enthusiasm and support of our mission πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’›

We are honored to be selected for a Quality of Life Grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation's National Paralysis Resource Center.

This grant will support the creation of "The Access Series", a six-session virtual workshop program on the financial and systemic challenges of living with paralysis.

Too often, people leave the hospital and rehabilitation without a clear roadmap for navigating insurance, securing funding for essential equipment and services, or accessing the benefits and community resources available to them.

Funding for this program was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL grant -05).

We are grateful to the Reeve Foundation for helping us expand access for people living with paralysis πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’›

A few steps, and a heartfelt thank you. This is what your support makes possible. πŸ’šπŸ’™

Today we invite you to meet Casey, Stephen, and Nikki, three of our recent Stronger Together Grant recipients.

We're grateful to our donors for enabling us to play a small role in helping all three individuals move forward after a spinal cord injury.

Every bit of support TESF provides goes toward making moments like these possible for people living with paralysis.

Today we remember and honor the service members who gave their lives for this country.

We're also thinking of the families and friends who continue to carry their memory forward, today and every day.

To everyone who served, and to everyone who lost someone who did – thank you from all of us at TESF ❀️ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Paralyzed 3x... 8x βœ… Our co-founder is living proof of what access makes possible πŸ’ͺ

On Monday, our family, friends, and the crowd on Boylston Street witnessed Tom cross the finish line for the 8th time since sustained three unrelated paralyzing spinal cord injuries. This year Tom had the priviledge to walk alongside 's Bill and Denise Richard, and our dear friend, TESF supporter, Joe Ford.

Thank you to our supporters, , , , , the Richard family, , as well as every charity and participant in the 130th . And of course – thank you to the city of Boston.

Eight marathons in, and this one hit different. A day and weekend we'll carry with us for a long time. πŸ’™πŸ’›
