Today we remember and honor the service members who gave their lives for this country.

We're also thinking of the families and friends who continue to carry their memory forward, today and every day.

To everyone who served, and to everyone who lost someone who did – thank you from all of us at TESF ❀️ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Paralyzed 3x... 8x βœ… Our co-founder is living proof of what access makes possible πŸ’ͺ

On Monday, our family, friends, and the crowd on Boylston Street witnessed Tom cross the finish line for the 8th time since sustained three unrelated paralyzing spinal cord injuries. This year Tom had the priviledge to walk alongside 's Bill and Denise Richard, and our dear friend, TESF supporter, Joe Ford.

Thank you to our supporters, , , , , the Richard family, , as well as every charity and participant in the 130th . And of course – thank you to the city of Boston.

Eight marathons in, and this one hit different. A day and weekend we'll carry with us for a long time. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Some people run marathons. Others live them.

Today we're proud to share a new publication: Living with Paralysis is a Marathon.

Three stories. Three individuals. One truth: Access is what makes the difference.

Our co-founder Thomas Smith. Paralyzed three separate times in 18 months, Tom is preparing to complete his 8th Boston Marathon on Monday.

Our Stronger Together Grant Committee Co-Chair Jake Thibeault. Paralyzed from the waist down after sustaining a spinal cord injury while playing hockey in 2021, Jake is a Babson College student who will utilize the accessible viewing areas we partnered with the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) to launch last year.

MW Fund founder and TESF Stronger Together Committee Co-Chair Matt Wetherbee. Paralyzed from the neck down from an SCI sustained playing basketball in 2016, Matt is a husband and father who takes on 2.5+ hours of care routines before his day even starts.

For most people, the Boston Marathon is a single day. For the people in this publication, and so many others living with paralysis, the marathon never ends.

It's every day πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’›

Big News! Denise & Bill are Support Runners for Tom Smith in the 130th Boston Marathon raising money for his foundation, whose work and values mean a great deal to all of us at MR8. Bill supported Tom last year and Denise will now join the team for her first time on the marathon course.

The Martin Richard Foundation has spent the last twelve years raising awareness and funds for inclusion and adaptive programming through Team MR8.
