The Marblehead Current was the recipient of the Christmas Carole Gift this past December . It was established by the Carole Remick Foundation in honor of Carole’s birthday which was on Christmas Day.
Carole loved Marblehead and enjoyed reading our local paper. She would be proud of the work the Current is doing to bring back our local newspaper and always believe you should give young people as many opportunities as possible.

Congratulations Claire! We are looking forward to watching you grow in this role .

Although for many of you she needs no introduction, we're doing it anyway. Meet the 's fantastic summer intern: MHS grad and Indiana University student Claire Tips: https://loom.ly/F5kshS8

As an Ernie Pyle Scholar at IU, Tips will spend part of her sophomore year at the Poynter Institute: A New Curriculum for a New Journalism receiving training on media ethics and writing, among other topics.

This summer, however, she's all ours thanks to a grant from the Carole Remick Charitable Foundation, established to honor the wishes of Remick, a Marblehead resident and journalism professor at UMass Boston.

The Remick Foundation and members of the NEHSJC board worked for 6 months planning and gathering names of past participants of the program. We managed to reach students as far back as 35 years.

We celebrated the legacy of Carol Remick and reunited students. The energy and love for this program could be felt everywhere.

We couldn’t have done it with Event planner Christine Panek
