"I have a friend who just lost her daughter in a fire.
She is looking to re-home 2 indoor female cats, they have had shots in the last 6 months and are both spayed. Each are 2 years old and sisters.
She was hoping to not have to put them in the shelter.
If you know of anyone please let me know."

Meet Angel Baby, a gorgeous, velvety-soft girl with the sweetest little personality. Her favorite things in life are affection, pets, and making instant biscuits for anyone willing to give her attention. (Music video in comments section)

The cat room was a little too overwhelming for her, so she’s currently spending her days in a kennel. But the moment that door opens, she forgets all about posing for pictures and immediately comes over for rubs and love. In fact, we could barely get a photo because she just wanted affection!

Angel Baby has an adorable habit of sticking her tongue out, which only adds to her charm. She’s a gentle, loving girl who should do well with other cats and is ready to trade her kennel for a cozy home filled with cuddles.

It is with great sadness that one of VRHS's loved family members, Melody Johnson, passed, unexpectedly, this past weekend.
Melody devoted much of her time volunteering for the Valley River Humane Society staff and animals. She served as President and Vice President on the VRHS Board of Directors and also volunteered at the Thrift Store. She is loved and is sorely missed. Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers

Meet Kosmia 💕

If you’re looking for a cat who will melt right into your hands, Kosmia is your girl. The moment you start petting her, she turns into instant putty and soaks up every bit of affection she can get. Her favorite thing in the world is simply being loved (music video in comments section).

Kosmia is incredibly sweet, gentle, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She’ll gladly trade purrs and cuddles for a soft hand and some attention.

Kosmia is 7 years old and does have kidney disease. She will need to remain eating a special kidney diet to help keep her feeling her best.

There is nothing better than seeing shelter pets leave for their new lives, and today we have some wonderful news to share!

We are thrilled to announce that three amazing dogs have found their forever homes! 🏡✨

Even more special, two of these dogs were long-term residents here at Valley River Humane Society. They spent months waiting for the right families to come along, and we are beyond excited that their patience has finally paid off. Watching long-term shelter dogs walk out the door with their new families is one of the greatest joys we experience.

To each adopter: thank you for opening your heart and home to a shelter pet. Your decision doesn't just change a dog's life—it changes ours, too. Knowing these deserving pups will be loved, cherished, and part of a family means the world to us.

We are so grateful for our adopters, supporters, volunteers, fosters, and staff who help make these happy endings possible.

Congratulations to our newest families and their furry companions! We wish you many years of love, adventures, cuddles, and happy memories together. ❤️🐶

Kitten season is in full swing, and we're currently caring for a large number of hungry, growing kittens. Because of this, our kitten food supplies are being used up quickly!

We are especially in need of:

🧡 Fancy Feast Wet Kitten Food

We can also gladly accept any kitten food that does not contain red dye.

Every bag, can, and donation helps ensure these little ones receive the nutrition they need to grow healthy and strong while they wait for their forever homes.
