Geological Age:
Yule marble in Colorado’s West Elk Mountains formed around 30 million years ago, making it geologically younger than other significant marble deposits around the world.
Granite Intrusions:
The West Elk Mountains are distinguished by granite intrusions, which are more resistant to erosion than the surrounding sedimentary rocks, leading to today’s dramatic landscapes.
Surrounding Landscape:
The mix of granite and eroded sedimentary rocks creates a diverse topography in the West Elk Mountains, offering a rich geological research and exploration field.
Making Marble an amazing rich exploration area.

Why is Colorado Marble so White?
It was formed with little impurities heat pressure and time created the CO Marble. The Quarry pulls one million cubic feet of stone per year. It is transported to Delta CO where it is processed and sent all over the world, to jobs, buildings houses, contractors, and many stone fabricators.
