Some people walk through our doors carrying more than empty grocery bags.

They may be carrying worry.
They may be carrying uncertainty.
They may be carrying the weight of a difficult season.

Today, because of a caring community, they'll also leave carrying hope.

Every can donated, every volunteer hour given, and every dollar shared becomes part of something bigger than food—it becomes a reminder that no one has to face hard times alone.

🎓✨ Meet Our Third 2026-27 LEARN for LIFE Scholarship Recipient: Kenadi Dalton! ✨🎓

The Helping Center is proud to announce Kenadi Dalton as the third recipient of our 2026-27 LEARN for LIFE Scholarship!

This fall, Kenadi will attend Tarleton State University, where she plans to major in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary focus. Her dream of becoming a veterinarian began in the third grade, and she is already well on her way to making that dream a reality.

Kenadi has been active in a wide variety of activities including volleyball, rodeo, Adopt-a-Highway, and many other pursuits that reflect her strong work ethic and commitment to her community. One day, she hopes to open her own veterinary clinic and care for animals while serving families in her community.

We are honored to support students like Kenadi who are pursuing their passions and preparing to make a difference in the world.

The Helping Center is proud to recognize Reece Coursey as a recipient of our 2026-27 LEARN for LIFE Scholarship!

This fall, Reece will attend Angelo State University, where she plans to major in Elementary Education. Through her involvement in choir, volleyball, theater, and numerous extracurricular activities, Reece has demonstrated leadership, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping others.

Inspired by the educators who have impacted her own life, Reece hopes to encourage future generations of students to become curious, confident, and enthusiastic learners.

The LEARN for LIFE Scholarship supports local students who are committed to pursuing higher education while making a positive difference in their communities. We are honored to invest in Reece's future and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes.

The Helping Center is proud to award a LEARN for LIFE Scholarship to Tyler Leverett-Jackson, a remarkable Marble Falls student whose passion for serving others is already making a difference.

This fall, Tyler will attend Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Active in football, band, track, the National Honor Society, and volunteer work through Camp Peniel and other nonprofit organizations, Tyler exemplifies leadership, dedication, and compassion.

Tyler's goal is to specialize in prosthetics, helping make life-changing devices more affordable and accessible for underserved communities around the world. 🌎❤️

Finally Friday 💙

This week alone, The Helping Center was able to serve more than 1,800 individuals in our community. Behind every number is a neighbor, a child, a senior, or a family walking through difficult times — and because of YOU, they were met with food, kindness, and hope.

Thank you to our volunteers, donors, churches, community partners, and everyone who continues to stand beside us. Your support truly makes a difference every single day.

We are grateful. We are humbled. And we are reminded that together, we can do so much good.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is happening THIS Saturday, May 9th—and it’s one of the easiest (and most impactful) ways to help local families right here at home.
Here’s all you have to do:
🥫 Grab a few non-perishable items
📦 Place them by your mailbox
🚚 Your letter carrier will take it from there
That’s it. You just became a neighborhood hero.
Every can, every box, every jar helps stock the shelves at The Helping Center and keeps families fed with dignity and care.
Most needed items:
• Canned fruits & vegetables
• Peanut butter
• Rice & pasta
• Cereal
👉 Pro tip: If you’ve been meaning to clean out your pantry…this is your moment.
