DON’T GRAB THE CONTROLS

Have you ever been in a situation where life was moving so fast that you wanted to reach out and take control? Maybe things were happening quicker than you expected, the direction felt unfamiliar, or you weren’t sure what was coming next. You knew you needed to trust God, but everything inside you wanted to grab the controls and make sure things went the way you thought they should.

Think about sitting in the copilot’s seat of an airplane. As the plane accelerates down the runway and begins to lift off the ground, you can feel the movement, the speed, and the change in direction. You might instinctively want to reach for the controls, but you aren’t the one flying the plane. You have to remain in your seat and trust the pilot to guide the aircraft into the air.

Isn’t that how we sometimes act with God? We trust Him when things are calm, but the moment life starts picking up speed, we get nervous. When a relationship changes, a door closes, an opportunity takes an unexpected turn, or the future becomes uncertain, we want to reach over and take control. We start trying to force outcomes, figure out every detail, and make things happen on our own timeline because surrendering control can feel uncomfortable.

But faith is trusting God’s direction even when we feel the strongest urge to take over.

Proverbs 16:9 (KJV) says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”

We can make plans, prepare for the future, and work toward the things we believe God has placed on our hearts. But we must also recognize that our understanding is limited. We cannot see everything God sees, and we don’t always know why He allows certain things to happen the way they do. Sometimes the very thing we’re trying so desperately to control is something we need to surrender to Him.

That doesn’t mean we stop taking responsibility for our lives. It means we stop confusing responsibility with control. We do what we’re called to do, remain faithful in the process, and trust God with the parts that are beyond our reach.

So if life feels like it’s accelerating right now, and you’re tempted to grab the controls because you’re afraid of where things are headed, take a breath. You don’t have to understand every movement to trust the One who sees the whole journey. Your job isn’t to force everything into place; it’s to follow God’s direction, one faithful step at a time.

Have you ever had one of those days when it feels like everything that could go wrong just keeps going wrong? You handle one problem, and before you can catch your breath, another one shows up. Suddenly, you’re running on no sleep, trying to fix things you didn’t break, scrambling to make things right, and wondering how much more you can possibly handle. Before you know it, you’re trying to control every detail because you’re afraid that if you don’t, everything will fall apart.

But here’s something we have to remember: Jesus never asked us to be the pilot of this journey.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

Sometimes we get so caught up trying to make everything work out exactly the way we planned that we forget who’s in control. We start believing that every problem is ours to solve, every outcome is ours to manage, and every unexpected turn is ours to correct. But trusting Jesus means recognizing that while we are responsible for doing our part, we are not responsible for controlling every outcome.

Think about a copilot. A copilot still has responsibilities. They pay attention, follow instructions, and do the work required of them. But they aren’t the one ultimately in command of the flight. In our walk with Christ, we’re called to be faithful with what’s in front of us, do what we can with what we’ve been given, and trust Jesus with what we cannot control.

That doesn’t mean everything will go according to our plans. Sometimes things fall apart, plans change, and the answers don’t come as quickly as we’d like. But a difficult day doesn’t mean God has lost control, and an unexpected detour doesn’t mean we’ve lost our direction. Our job is to be faithful with the next step, not to figure out every step of the journey.

So the next time life starts piling one thing on top of another, take a breath. Handle what you can, pray about what you can’t, and remember who’s in command. You don’t have to carry the weight of controlling every outcome. You just have to trust the One who’s leading you.

Do your part, trust His direction, and let Jesus be the pilot. You were never meant to carry the burden of controlling the entire flight.

God Is in the Waiting Room

Have you ever felt like you’ve been waiting on God for so long that you start wondering if He even hears you? You pray, you ask, you seek Him, and you bring the same burdens to Him over and over again, yet nothing seems to change. The doors haven’t opened, the answers haven’t come, and the situation you’re praying about still looks exactly the same. After a while, waiting can become frustrating, discouraging, and even lonely. You might start wondering if you’ve been forgotten or if God is ever going to show up.

But what if we started looking at the waiting room a little differently?

In a doctor’s office, a waiting room is where you sit until someone calls your name. You don’t always know how long you’ll be there, and you don’t get to decide when your turn comes. All you can do is wait. And sometimes, our walk with God feels a whole lot like that. We know what we’ve asked Him for, we know what we’re hoping for, and we know what we’d like Him to do. But we don’t know when, how, or even what His answer will look like.

Here’s what we have to remember…God is in the waiting room, too.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Scripture doesn’t say those who wait will never get tired, discouraged, or frustrated. It reminds us that as we wait upon the Lord, He renews our strength. Sometimes God changes our circumstances, and sometimes He does a work in us while we’re still standing in the middle of them. He teaches us patience when we’d rather have an answer, trust when we can’t see the outcome, and perseverance when we’re tempted to give up.

Waiting doesn’t mean God has abandoned you. Silence doesn’t mean He has forgotten you. And a delayed answer doesn’t mean your prayers don’t matter. We may not understand what God is doing behind the scenes, and we have to be honest enough to admit that sometimes the waiting hurts. Faith doesn’t mean pretending we’re never disappointed. It means bringing that disappointment to God instead of allowing it to pull us away from Him.

Sometimes we’re so focused on getting out of the waiting room that we miss what God wants to teach us while we’re there. We want the relationship restored, the financial breakthrough, the healing, the opportunity, the direction, or the answer we’ve been praying for. And it’s okay to keep praying for those things. But while we’re waiting for God to move in our circumstances, we can still allow Him to move in our hearts.

So if you’ve been praying about something for months, or even years, and you’re beginning to feel discouraged, don’t give up on God just because you don’t understand His timing. Keep praying. Keep seeking Him. Keep showing up in His Word. Keep taking the next right step, even when you can’t see the whole picture.

You may be waiting on an answer, but you’re not waiting alone. God is in the waiting room.
And while you wait for the answer you hope for, remember that the One you’re waiting on is also the One who promises to sustain you through the wait.

Don’t mistake the waiting room for the end of your story. Keep your faith, keep your hope, and keep your heart close to Jesus. You don’t have to know when the door will open to trust the One who holds the key.

Don’t Let the Snake Change the Way You Walk

Sometimes life feels a lot like walking through unfamiliar territory. You’re moving forward, trying to get where God is taking you, but there are obstacles everywhere. You’re stepping over branches, pushing through bushes, watching your footing and trying to navigate things you can’t always see.

Mr. Amazing told me a story about being out elk hunting. They were walking through some pretty rough terrain when he stepped forward and someone suddenly said, “Wait.” He had almost stepped on a rattlesnake. Thankfully, someone saw it before he did and took care of it.

But after that, he was on high alert. Every stick looked a little more suspicious. Every bush made him wonder what might be hiding underneath it. He knew there could be another snake somewhere, so he became much more cautious about every step he took.

And I think sometimes we do the same thing in life. We experience something that scares us, hurts us, disappoints us, or catches us completely off guard, and even after that situation is over, we continue living as though the danger is still right in front of us. We start looking for the next problem before we’ve even had a chance to enjoy the blessing that’s right in front of us. We become so focused on what might happen that we forget to trust the One who already knows what will happen.

There is nothing wrong with being wise. There is nothing wrong with learning from our experiences or paying attention to where we’re stepping. But there is a difference between walking with wisdom and walking in fear.

Psalm 121:8 says, “The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

That doesn’t mean there won’t be snakes on the trail. It doesn’t mean there won’t be unexpected obstacles, difficult seasons, disappointments, or things that make us stop and say, “Whoa, I didn’t see that coming.” It means that whatever we encounter, God is still with us.

Sometimes we allow one painful experience to change the way we approach everything that comes after it. One betrayal makes us afraid to trust. One failure makes us afraid to try again. One difficult season makes us expect the next season to be difficult too. But just because something happened before doesn’t mean God is asking you to live the rest of your life expecting it to happen again.

The snake was real, but the snake wasn’t the whole trail. There was still a destination ahead. There was still beauty along the way. There was still a reason to keep walking.

And maybe that’s what someone needs to hear today. Whatever happened yesterday, don’t let it convince you that something terrible is waiting around every corner today. Take what you’ve learned, let God heal what hurt, use wisdom where wisdom is needed, but don’t allow fear to dictate the way you walk.

Keep moving forward. Keep trusting God. Keep your eyes on Jesus instead of constantly looking for the next thing that could go wrong.
Because sometimes the greatest thing God wants to change isn’t what’s happening around us. Sometimes He wants to change the way we’re walking through it.

You may encounter another snake on the trail, but you don’t have to spend the entire journey afraid of finding one. God is still leading you, God is still protecting you, and God is still walking with you.

Keep walking. There’s still more trail ahead.

GET BACK IN ALIGNMENT

Sometimes life has a way of showing us just how easily things can get out of alignment. When something in our bodies is out of place, it can affect everything around it. We may not even realize how far we’ve shifted until something starts hurting and we finally stop long enough to address it.

Our walk with Jesus can be a lot like that. We have a kind of spiritual “muscle memory.” We can fall back into old habits, old ways of thinking, old attitudes, and old patterns without even realizing how far we’ve drifted. We can get so busy with life that prayer becomes less frequent, the Word gets pushed aside, and Jesus slowly moves from the center of our lives to the edges.

That’s why staying in alignment with Christ isn’t a one time thing. It’s something we have to continually work on. We get back into His Word. We pray. We worship. We listen. We repent when we need to. We seek Him first. And when we realize we’ve shifted, we don’t stay there we get back in alignment.

The beautiful thing is that Jesus isn’t standing there waiting to condemn us because we got out of alignment. He’s inviting us back. Every day is another opportunity to straighten our hearts, refocus our minds, and put Him back where He belongs.

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Notice that word…renewing. It’s ongoing. We don’t renew our minds once and never have to do it again. We continually allow God to reshape the way we think, the way we live, and the way we respond.

So if you’ve noticed that you’ve been drifting lately, don’t beat yourself up over it. Don’t convince yourself that you’ve gone too far. Just stop, turn back toward Jesus, and get back into alignment. The more we practice walking with Him, the more familiar that path becomes.

Stay in the Word. Stay in prayer. Stay close to Jesus. And when life knocks you out of alignment, don’t stay there get back in place.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” — James 4:8 (KJV)

What an incredible day at the Ellen Halbert Unit!

U-TOO Ministries had the privilege of worshiping alongside these amazing women, sharing the Gospel, and witnessing God move in a powerful way.

35 women made the decision to give their lives to Christ and chose to be baptized!

We had an incredible church service filled with worship, prayer, praise, and the presence of God. There is something powerful about watching someone who may have walked through some of the darkest seasons of their life make the decision to say, “Yes, Jesus. I choose You.”

Their circumstances may say prison, but Jesus says freedom.
Their past may say broken, but Jesus says redeemed.
The world may have counted them out, but God never did.

Today wasn’t just about baptism. It was about new beginnings, transformed lives, and 35 women publicly declaring that their lives belong to Christ. We are so grateful to everyone who made this day possible and to every woman who took that step of faith.

35 baptized.
35 new beginnings.
35 testimonies still being written.

And we’re just getting started.

IT'S STILL GOING TO WORK OUT.
A Devotion from U-TOO Ministries

Have you ever had something you were so sure was going to work out, only to watch it turn out completely differently than you expected?
You prayed about it. You put in the work. You made sacrifices, stayed committed, and did everything you knew to do. Yet, somehow, the outcome wasn't what you had hoped for.
Here's something we have to remind ourselves: Just because things didn't work out the way we wanted doesn't mean God isn't working things out for our good.

Sometimes, we get so caught up in the outcome that we forget about the journey. We become so focused on what we didn't receive that we overlook what we gained along the way. Maybe it was patience. Maybe it was strength. Maybe it was a lesson in trusting God when we couldn't see what He was doing. And sometimes, the blessing isn't in getting what we wanted. It's in who we become while we're waiting.

Think about how much can change in a year. There are victories we never saw coming, struggles we never expected, doors that closed, and doors that opened when we least expected them. There are moments when we wonder how we're ever going to get through something, only to look back and realize God carried us through every bit of it.

Faith doesn't mean everything will happen on our timeline. Faith means trusting God even when the outcome is uncertain. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us…
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith is believing even when there's no evidence in front of us that things are going to change. It's continuing to pray when the answer hasn't come, continuing to work when progress seems slow, and continuing to trust God when life doesn't make sense.

And let's not forget Galatians 6:9…."And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Notice those words “in due season”.

Not necessarily when we want it. Not necessarily when we think it should happen. But in God's timing.

Walking with Christ requires more than faith when things are going well. It requires discipline when we're tired, obedience when we don't understand, patience when we're waiting, and hope when things don't turn out as planned.
Sometimes, we won't understand the lesson until we're looking back at it months or even years later. But we can keep moving forward, knowing that God is still present in every season.

So, the next time life doesn't go according to plan, don't mistake a disappointing outcome for a defeated purpose. Take what you learned, hold on to your faith, and keep going.

It may not have worked out today. It may not look like it's working out tomorrow. But God is still working, even when we can't see it. And maybe that's what it really means when we say, "It's always going to work out for me." Not that we'll always get what we want, but that we can trust the One who holds our future.

Keep the faith. Keep showing up. Keep doing what's right. And don't give up just because you're still waiting to see how the story ends.
God isn't finished writing your story.

UTOO Ministries Daily Devotion: Don't Let Life Push God to the Back Burner

Matthew 6:33 says….
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Life has a way of keeping us on our toes. Sometimes things change, schedules get rearranged, responsibilities pile up, and before we know it, we're running around trying to keep up with everything life throws our way.
Sometimes we have to make adjustments. We have to change our routines, shift our priorities, and figure out how to manage everything in front of us. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Life happens!

But here's something we have to be careful about! Don't get so busy managing your life that you forget the One who gave it to you. It's easy to let our prayer time get shorter, our Bible sit unopened, and our time with God become something we squeeze in if we have a few minutes left at the end of the day. We tell ourselves we'll pray tomorrow, read our Bible later, or spend more time with the Lord when things finally slow down. But what happens when life doesn't slow down?

The truth is, God doesn't need to be squeezed into whatever time we have left. He deserves to be part of every season, every adjustment, and every new chapter of our lives. Seeking God first doesn't mean we have to neglect our responsibilities or abandon the things that bring us joy. It means inviting Him into all of it. Let Him guide our decisions, give us peace when things get hectic, and remind us what's truly important.

Maybe your schedule has changed. Maybe you're starting something new, facing unexpected responsibilities, or simply trying to find your footing in a busy season. Whatever it looks like, don't let your relationship with God become another thing you keep putting off.

Make time for Him, even if it's just a few quiet minutes in the morning or a simple prayer in the middle of a hectic day.

Don't wait for life to calm down before you make room for God. Let Him be your peace in the middle of the chaos.

Daily Devotion: Don't Give Up on What God Is Growing in You

Galatians 6:9 days….
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Sometimes, we get so caught up in waiting for God to do something big that we overlook what He's doing in the little things.
We pray for change, but get discouraged when we don't see it happening fast enough. We pour into others, but sometimes feel like nobody is pouring into us. We try to do the right thing, even when doing the wrong thing would be so much easier.

But here's the thing: Just because you don't see the fruit doesn't mean God isn't growing something. Think about a seed planted in the ground. For a while, there's absolutely nothing to see. No leaves, no flowers, no fruit. But beneath the surface, roots are growing. What looks like nothing is actually the beginning of something beautiful.

Our walk with Christ can be just like that.
Sometimes, God is working on our patience when we'd rather have an answer. He's strengthening our faith when we'd rather have proof. He's teaching us to love people who may never love us back and to keep showing kindness even when the world gives us every reason not to.
And maybe that's where some of us are today. We're tired. We're frustrated. We're wondering if the things we're doing even matter.
But they do.

That kind word you gave someone, the prayer you whispered when nobody was listening, the forgiveness you offered when it hurt, and the choice to keep trusting God when life gets hard none of it is wasted. God sees the things nobody else sees. He sees the battles you fight quietly and the effort it takes to keep showing up.
So don't mistake a season of waiting for a season of wasted time. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep serving. Keep planting those seeds of faith.
You may not see the harvest today, but that doesn't mean God isn't working.

Your job is to be faithful with the seeds. God's job is to bring the harvest.
So just little reminder for today: Don't give up just because you haven't seen the results. God is still working, even when you can't see it.

Heavenly Father, help us remain faithful even when we're tired, discouraged, or uncertain. Remind us that our efforts to love, serve, and honor You are never wasted. Give us patience in the waiting, strength in the difficult seasons, and faith to trust Your timing. Help us keep planting seeds of kindness and love wherever You place us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Go into today knowing that what you do for the Lord matters, even when nobody else notices.
