🇺🇸 Highland Lakes Kiwanis Club is launching the Lakeside Community Flag Display in Marble Falls this Independence Day, creating what we hope will become a patriotic attraction for the Hill Country. We're looking for businesses, families, and community supporters to sponsor a flag and help us create a stunning display of red, white, and blue.

As Memorial Day approaches, you’ll soon see American flags proudly displayed across Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Meadowlakes, Cottonwood Shores, and surrounding communities. The Highland Lakes Kiwanis Club honors our country and veterans by placing flags at more than 200 locations during seven national holidays each year. This community flag program supports local youth initiatives, including partnerships with the Marble Falls Education Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Highland Lakes. The Highland Lakes Kiwanis Art & Science Student Showcase was seriously awesome and packed with incredible art and next-level science projects. Highland Lakes kids showed up! Huge thanks to every student who participated, and to the teachers, parents and families for their support. Big appreciation to the judges & volunteers who made it all run smooth. And shoutout to Norm at Downtown Beer Hall for hosting the event. We’re looking forward to the next one.

The sixth annual Boys & Girls Club – Kingsland Touch-A-Truck event is Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kingsland Community Center. The event is a fundraiser for the Kingsland Boys & Girls Club.

Looking for a laid-back way to meet some new faces around town? The Highland Lakes Kiwanis is bringing the community together this Thursday, March 19, from 5–6:30 PM at Old Oak Square in downtown Marble Falls for a casual Community Mixer designed to do exactly that, help neighbors meet neighbors. As the Highland Lakes area continues to grow, plenty of folks are still getting their bearings, so this event is all about creating an easygoing space to connect. No speeches, no pressure, just good conversation, a few laughs, and the chance to put some real names to the faces you see around town.

Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just arrived with moving boxes, everyone is welcome. There’s also a feel-good mission tied in: The Kiwanis Club is teaming up with the Highland Lakes Service League to collect books for kids ages 6–12. Guests are invited (but not required) to bring a book to donate. Monetary donations will also be collected to help purchase additional titles for local kids. It’s a simple way to make a real difference and enjoy a relaxed evening downtown. You don’t need to be a Kiwanis member to stop by. Just bring your friendly vibe, maybe a book, and get ready to connect with the people who make this community feel like home.
