Day 1: They keep repeating "walk" and "outside" like these are good things. No clue what it means. Need more intel.

Day 4: They sometimes put cute sweaters on me and place me on a strange surface called 'grass'. As weird as that is, they do bring me back every time. That's... reassuring?

Day 7: Establishing a pattern. Same route every time. Same encouraging voices with treats at the scary parts. Side note: How many sweaters do these humans have?

Assessment: Predictable, reliable, and brings me home. Trust level: 8/10

PRELIMINARY CONCLUSION: Walks with staff appear to be non-threatening and even a bit tolerable. But the investigation doesn't end there...

If you’ve been following Fang’s story, welcome back! And if this is the first time you’re hearing of him, here’s a quick recap: Fang is a fuzzy little terrier mix, around two years old, that loves to talk and sing. He’s currently confined to a small kennel (which he absolutely despises) because his back legs are paralyzed. We think he was hit by a car. The impact caused a slipped disc, and now this precious, funny little dog who wants nothing more than to be out in the world can only watch it go by.

We had him examined at Austin Veterinary Specialty and Emergency on Wednesday afternoon. The news is hard: he needs an MRI and spinal surgery, estimated cost of which is somewhere between $8,000 and $11,000. However, there's real hope here as the vet we're working with has a 95% success rate with these cases. Fang could walk again. He could have the life a young dog should have and be an excellent companion to someone special. He talks to us constantly, pleading to be let out, to play, to be in someone’s lap… If we can just help him get back on his feet.

We're asking because we can't do this alone. If you can give anything, or share this with someone who might be able to help, we'd be so grateful. Fang has so much left to give. He just needs a chance to give it. Some goodbyes are easier than others. 💛

Our sweet diamond Fauna went into foster care a few months ago, and her foster family opened their home to help her find the perfect match. But somewhere between daily walks and cozy evenings on the couch, something shifted. They realized the perfect match had been right there all along.

We're so happy to share that Fauna's foster family has decided to make it official and now she's home for good. There's something really special about watching a dog settle into where they truly belong. Fauna found her people, and they found her. Sometimes that's exactly how it's supposed to work.

Congratulations to the whole family. We couldn't be happier for you all. 🐾

🐾 THREE GOOD BOYS SEEKING HOMES! 🐾

Zero - Started out shy, has now grown into a more confident sweetie! Zero takes his time building trust, but once he does, his gentle personality really shines. He's house-trained, dog friendly, and loves outings.

Grumpy - Spoiler alert: not actually grumpy! This energetic goofball loves playing with bigger dogs, is learning his commands, and has the stamina for any adventure you can throw at him. Also knows how to chill when playtime's over.

Henry - Came from a hoarding situation with zero socialization. Now he loves outings, walks great, and gets along with other dogs. Still a bit shy but considering where he started, this guy is making incredible strides. He just needs an understanding owner.

Hey everyone! Say hello to Tulip, a sweet senior gal who came to us needing some help. She's got a great temperament and loves people, but she also came to us with a pretty big problem, as you'll see in the pics below.

Tulip is around 10 years old and one of the friendliest little chihuahuas you'll ever meet. We're getting her checked out by our vet to see what we're dealing with and what the best plan is to get her feeling better. She's comfortable and in good spirits while we wait for answers, which is encouraging.

This girl deserves to spend her golden years happy and healthy, and we're going to do everything we can to make that happen. We'll keep you posted as we learn more about what's going on with Tulip. In the meantime, she's getting lots of love and care while we figure out the next steps for her...

Listen up, humans. It's Freya, your friendly neighborhood Anatolian Shepherd, and I've been monitoring the forecast. Wintry weather incoming this weekend, and frankly, I'm concerned about your preparedness levels.

As someone who was literally bred to protect flocks in the mountains of Turkey, I feel obligated to point out that your Chihuahua in the backyard is NOT equipped for this. Neither is your outdoor cat who "likes it out there." They're just trying to make you feel better. Bring them inside.

Here's my official Cold Weather Checklist:

⤷ Bring your pets indoors (yes, even the one who's "fine")
⤷ Check that outdoor water bowls aren't frozen solid (ice is not hydration)
⤷ Maybe don't leave your dog tied up outside while you "run in real quick"
⤷ Salt and ice melt can burn paw pads, so wipe those feet when you come in
⤷ If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them

Look, I have a thick double coat and I STILL prefer to do my business quickly and get back to the couch. Your short-haired dog is not toughing it out, they're just cold and don't have thumbs to open the door.

Stay warm out there. Protect your pack.

Bashful is a young Staffordshire mix with a gentle heart, a curious mind, and a playful streak that comes out as soon as he feels safe. At first he can be a little shy, but once he warms up, his whole personality shines. He becomes affectionate, goofy, and so eager to connect.

🎉ADOPTED! 🎉

Bambi’s happy ending is one we’ve all been waiting for!

This tiny chihuahua came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with nearly fifty dogs, unsure of the world and unsure of herself. She was timid, fragile, and trying her best to understand what safety felt like. Watching her slowly open up has been one of the best parts of her time with us.

Today we get to celebrate something truly special. Bambi has been adopted; and not just by anyone, but by the same wonderful family who adopted Skippy! These adopters have already shown so much patience, love, and compassion, and now Bambi gets to join a home that understands her gentle spirit and her need for kindness.

Seeing two dogs from such difficult beginnings find comfort in the same family is the kind of full‑circle moment that keeps us going. Bambi walked into her new life with curiosity and hope, and we know she’s exactly where she’s meant to be. Here’s to Bambi, to Skippy, and to the incredible humans who opened their hearts to them both.
