We are looking forward to our 2nd meeting and hoping to see you there! If you're planning on coming, please RSVP to the meeting event and let us know how many kiddos you will be bringing! Below is a little more info on what MOPS is all about. There is a yearly registration fee to become a MOPS/MOMSNext member, which is $31.95. This includes a membership kit including a workbook/journal/planner and lots of other fun MOPS goodies, as well as access to members section of website, access to FB members private page, MOPS magazine subscription, and other perks! We have group dues of $15/semester, which helps pay for our crafts, food, and operating costs. We never want money to prevent any mom from being involved in MOPS, so we have payment plans and scholarships available!
Hill Country After Dark MOPS/MOMSNext entails the following:
Community: We have been placed in this moment in time to raise the world. Our MOPS & MOPSnext group is an accepting atmosphere where moms can come together to have coffee and french toast in MOPS am meetings/ iced tea and casseroles in MOMSnext evenings, and share in this important season of life.
Mentoring: Mentor moms are a blessing to our group by sharing their wisdom and experience. They provide encouragement, perspective, a listening ear, and practical ways moms can find fulfillment in their roles as mother, wife and friend.
Practical Instruction & Discussion Groups: The intimate and accepting atmosphere of a small group offers moms a chance to share their successes, questions, and concerns. It is during these times that a mom realizes that she is not alone and friendships are formed. Teachings by MOPS mentors and outside speakers focus on celebrating motherhood, relevant truths, offering inspiration, and the cater to the unique needs of a mother.
Creative Outlet & Service: MOPS & MOMSnext embodies strength in community; giving your time and/or a gift to your community lifts your soul. We teach our children that sharing is caring, when we share our time or items for a good cause, we are becoming a stronger band of women and making a lasting impression. With that being said, we all need a little time to indulge in a creative endeavor. It was said “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” — Pablo Picasso. So you are invited to participate in creating something beautiful. Participating in service or art offers increased life satisfaction and enhanced well-being. and positive implications that go beyond mental health.
MOPS Kids: During our MOPS meetings, children are taught and cared for in a program designed just for them. They may sing songs, do a craft, hear a story, interact, and play with other children and always experience the care & love in a preschool-like setting.
Leadership Development: You have the ability to do big things on this earth. Our groups are led by mothers whom have been called to use their talents to lead. MOPS & MOPSnext provides opportunities for women to gain confidence in their leadership skills through training and experience they receive from their MOPS group and MOPS International.
Mom’s Nights Out: Once a month our groups get together around town and have a fun and much needed relaxing evening to ourselves! After all, we all need a little down time every now and then!
