Jackson County Iowa Toys for Tots The gift of a shiny new toy, something that most children take for granted - means to a needy child that
someone cares, that he/she hasn’t been forgotten

The official story from Toys for Tots is that the Colonel’s wife made a child’s doll and gave it to her husband to pass on to an organization collecting toys for needy children. When Hendricks could find no such organization in Los Angeles, he started Toys for Tots, collecting toys for over 5,000 families in the first year with the help of other reservists. The Marine Corps was struck by the progr


am and made it nationwide in 1948. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Calling all who want to be an Elf for a day and help someone in need?! Here is your chance! We are looking for volunteers Monday night (December 15th). There are lots of toys in our warehouse that need to be bundled up for our over 200 families this year! Check the details below.

Who: Those wanting to be one of Santa's elves for an evening
What: Bagging up the donated toys, books, and stocking stuffers for the families in Jackson County
Where: Imagine the Possibilities, 1710 E. Maple Street, Maquoketa
When: December 15th @ 6 pm
Why: To get yourself on the Nice list before Christmas

*We have had many ask if this is a kid friendly event...YES! It is never to early to each our children what giving back is all about!

DISTRIBUTION REMINDER - to all our families who have applied our first handout is tonight from at 5:30 to 8 pm. You will need to bring your letter stating you were approved along with your ID. Pickup is at Imagine the Possibilities, 1710 E. Maple Street (the same location last year). Please drive up and remain in your car and our volunteers will come out and get your toys for you.
