We had a great time at our data center lunch and learn last week! Data centers are such a hot topic, and we hope we were able to demystify some of the basics, such as their land, water, and electricity needs! A special thanks to Chris Krogman with Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility for the expertise he added to the conversation and Tri-M BBQ for a delicious meal!

We know it isn't the Christmas season anymore, but we have to share this!

Our Christmas light recycling program brought in 650 pounds of old or unused Christmas lights this year! That's a LOT of lights!

We offer this program every year during the Christmas season in the City of Bellevue, Iowa / Bellevue Police Department and at the Hurstville Interpretive Center; you bring in your lights and we recycle them! Recycled holiday lights are melted down so that all that is left is the copper wire, which can then be reused. Recycled copper is used for new electrical wiring and components for renewable energy systems like wind turbines and solar panels.

A big thanks to our board members Vickie and Bruce for all their work on this every year!
