Maplewood Community Fund

One week is plenty of time to put together a costume that will make you a contender to win one of the great prizes at MapleWEIRD Community 5k & Fun Run.

Our Kid Costume winner gets the bundle of games shown below. Thanks to our sponsor Yeti Games for helping with this prize. Winners of Best Group Costume will receive gift cards to incredible Maplewood shops: The Crow's Nest, The Blue Duck - Maplewood, MO, Mauhaus cat cafe in Maplewood and Traveling-Tea.

Participants in the 5k or Fun Run, and their fan clubs, are eligible to participate in the contest. To enter, simply strut your stuff past our judges between 10:15 -10:45 (the Fun Run route necessarily struts by). We'll announce the winners at Schlafly Bottleworks after the Fun Run at our After Party.

Huge thank you to our esteemed panel of Judges - Maplewood City Council person, C. Wiley; Artists First St. Louis Executive Director, Sheila Suderwalla; and Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Director of Student Services, Vince Estrada! These talented and upstanding individuals couldn't possibly be bribed. But go ahead and shower them with gifts and praise, they deserve it.

We know you're going to beautiful, creepy, hilarious, or just perfectly Weird. See you in a week.

Ten Days! til we make the streets of Maplewood a little (or a lot!) Weirder! Now is an excellent time to register for MapleWEIRD Community 5k & Fun Run if you haven't yet.

This event could be for you if you're the type of weirdo who enjoys: running or walking, hanging out with cool people, trick-or-treating, entering a costume contest for sweeeeet prizes, having your face painted, shopping from local artisans, free b**r, or having a good time for a good cause.

Lots of talk these days about races and costume contests and after parties. Don't get us wrong, we are giddy about partying with ya'll at MapleWEIRD Community 5k & Fun Run, but eyes on the prize: we host these events to raise money to give it back to our neighbors with a need. Thanks for being a part of our generous community. We need each other these days. 💚

Our new marketing team is to die for.

These service-minded skellies want to remind you that today, 10/9, is the last day to register for the Mapleweird 5k/Family Fun Run if you want your t-shirt size guaranteed!

If running/walking/crawling to the finish line of the 5k/Family Fun Run isn’t for you, there are still a few volunteers needed for the Mapleweird race on Sunday 10/25. Help us fill those final spots by signing up at the link posted in the comments below!

Don't sleep on registering for MapleWeird - register by this Friday to guarantee a T-shirt in your size commemorating your race day. After Friday, the shirts will be first come first served and we can’t guarantee these cuties will stay in stock!

The inaugural MapleWeird Community 5K & Fun Run is running on October 25, 2026, bringing a community race back after many years away!

Excited about MapleWEIRD Community 5k & Fun Run but already got your steps in that day? Volunteer with us!

It's mostly reeeaaaally complicated tasks like standing on a corner pointing runners in the right direction. We believe in you. Help us out.

What's that, you're Volunteery & Sporty? We got you. The link shows which volunteer slots allow you to still participate in the 5K and/or Fun Run.

If we haven't convinced you yet - volunteers will get a free race shirt. Because we love you.
