Maplewood Glee Club

Maplewood Glee Club We are a group of avid singers based in Maplewood, NJ. No auditions. No stress. Just men who sing. Our group is about fun, fellowship, good singing, and community.

We are a group of avid singers in Northern New Jersey who perform two main concerts a year and hold an annual scholarship competition for high school seniors intending to pursue the study of music. The present membership is composed of men from all walks of life who reside in Maplewood and surrounding communities. The Club was founded in 1946 as an Auxiliary of Post No.80 of the American Legion. T

hrough dedication and hard work, the Club soon gained its independence as a private men's glee club. Along our route to recognition, the Township of Maplewood adopted our cause, and in 1964, the Maplewood Community Recreation Service became our sponsor. In 1968, The Maplewood Recreation Department took over as our official sponsor. We are most appreciative of their constant support, including their provision of a weekly rehearsal facility.
