Join us for a practical, plain language training session led by Attorney Daniel Calderon. This session is designed for business owners — no legal background required — who want to feel more confident, informed and prepared to look out for one another.

What actually happens if an ICE agent comes into your place of business? What are your rights if ICE wants to take one of your employees? Or if you are at a rally, community event, or just walking in your neighborhood? How can regular neighbors safely observe and document what’s happening in public spaces? Get answers to these questions and more. RSVP Required.

Register here to join: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScQSkOJd9aLQV3hJdJfAqTUN3HR8Ke4etDTUVtYu9UMHRlBuA/viewform

We are grateful to partner with North End Neighborhood Organization - District 6 on this important and educational session for businesses.

I repurposed plastic bottle caps into tiny bird baths, providing a refreshing water source for insects like bees. 🐝💧

When to Plant Vegetables (Without Forgetting Again) 🗓️🌱

1️⃣ Start with your “last frost date”
That’s the magic number that tells you when it’s safe to plant outside.
Relatable mistake: I planted too early once… and my seedlings got humbled by one cold night 😅

2️⃣ Plant cold-lovers first
These veggies handle chilly weather like champs:
Lettuce, spinach, peas, carrots, radishes, kale

3️⃣ Warm-season veggies wait their turn
These hate cold soil and need real warmth:
Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, beans

4️⃣ Seeds vs. transplants = different timing
Seeds = start earlier (some indoors)
Transplants = move outside later when temps are stable

5️⃣ Use this simple schedule trick
4–8 weeks before last frost: start indoor seedlings
0–2 weeks after last frost: transplant warm crops
All season: plant “fast growers” every 2 weeks for steady harvests

6️⃣ Harvest gets easier when you write it down
A tiny note like “planted April 10” saves so much guessing later ✅

Small planning = big harvest energy 🥕🌿

7 vegetables that MUST grow together in the same bed 🌿
Plant these combos and watch pest problems vanish .👇👇
Strategic companion planting reduces pest damage by 60-80% while improving yields through natural symbiotic relationships. According to Oregon State Extension research, specific vegetable combinations planted together outperform isolated plantings by 30-50% due to pest confusion, nutrient sharing, and microclimate creation.

These seven proven partnerships work synergistically—each plant enhancing the other's growth and protection....(see 1st C0mment) 👇
