Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is a unique non-profit, community based, youth education program where students can excel musically, connect socially, and grow personally. MVYSO provides orchestra programs for students at every playing level including Debut Orchestra (beginning strings orchestra), Philharmonia (beginning full orchestra), Jr. Symphony Orchestra (intermediate full orchestra),
Symphony Orchestra (advanced full orchestra), and downbeat percussion (beginning percussion). MVYSO also has small ambassador ensemble programs including Elite Strings, Elite Winds, and Elite Brass. In addition to all of its performing groups, MVYSO offers, Jam Club, a unique music therapy based music education program for students with special needs. The Maple Valley Youth Symphony believes strongly in growing our students into responsible and productive adults. Our programs teach students valuable and marketable life skills. Students are also given opportunities to learn leadership skills, serve as Music Buddies in our Jam Club, become music mentors for younger students, and serve together in the community. The Maple Valley Youth Symphony is committed to being an integral part of the community and giving back to the community who has so generously supported us! As such, all of our concerts are "for donation only" and we perform for many community events that are free of charge to attend. At the MVYSO, we believe that social connection is every bit as important as musical excellence. We work hard to help students feel connected to one another at rehearsals and events. Additionally, we host several social activities for students outside of rehearsal each season such as broom ball, laser tag, travel, etc. Join one of our groups! Come to a concert or event!
