Thlis is just one of the thousands of Malawi orphans we have helped with our Malawi Formula project which raises money and then provides formula for starving infants whose mother's died before the babies could eat on their own. Without our help these babies would die of starvation. This program has saved thousands of babies. Perhaps equally important it has raised hope in one of the poorest countries in the world. Praise God and thank you for all your donations without your help we could not have saved their lives.

Dear Malawi Baby Formula Supporters,
It has been almost 5 years since I last went to Malawi. As administrator of the Malawi Baby Formula Program, it is really vital to keep in personal contact as much as possible and reasonable. My intention is to go to Malawi in Mid June. I would travel there with the Newton family, Bob, Sherry and Emily. Bob Newton’s focus will be on the land our church has bought and other mission related issues My mission will be to check on the Baby Formula Program; check with the hospital as to how the babies are being cared for and getting their physicals and shots. I want to make sure that we have a concise way of getting the information back and forth to one another as to whether we add babies or take them off and to make it clear to them my process is on a monthly basis while I know they get changes daily. I also want more pictures of our babies and those who have graduated off the program because they were old enough to eat on their own and thrive.
Won’t you please join me on this mission with your donation and especially with your moral support and prayers.
I am humbly asking for round trip airfare and travel assistance for my trip to Malawi. All of the other mission trips I have been on, I've been able to provide at least $1,000 for my airfare and expenses. So far I have raised $1,100.00 for the trip. A round trip ticket is at least $2600.00.
However, now my only income is $1,200 a month from social security. With that amount, I have to pay for my Medicare, medicine, personal items, gas, car payments and insurance. That leaves me with very little to save up.
I know that God wants me to go on this trip to Malawi. I also know God wants me to share this with you and get as many people involved as I can. He loves seeing his children practice true religion by supporting the orphans with donations &/or prayers. See James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts ad pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.
Since I am going for the Baby Formula Program, donations will be tax deductible because we are a 501C3 (NGO), Nonprofit Organization. I have never taken a penny from the Baby Formula Plan for any travel or administrative costs. That is only for Baby Formula. Please let me know as soon as possible since time is so short.
Checks can be made out to CBSR with the notation
“EPI Administration”
( or Admin) and mailed to CBSR
P O BOX 68545
Seattle WA 98168 or dropped off at the church. (Please do not note Baby Formula since this is an Administrative donation not for the formula.)

You may call me any time with questions or concerns. My phone number is 425-761-9878. My email address is [email protected]
I am so very grateful for your hearts for the orphaned babies. Please keep them in your prayers. Thank you.
With gratitude, everlasting faith and great appreciation.

These four orphaned babies were added to the baby formula program effective March 1st 2021. That makes a total of 19 babies on the baby formula program for March 2021. Next month there will be six babies who graduate off of the baby formula program effective April 1st. They've been on the program for a year and are now able to eat on their own and will be able to survive and thrive without the baby formula. We keep babies on the formula for a year or until they are a year old and are able to eat on their own and the baby formula has given them a great beginning for the rest of their life. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. We are so grateful for God's faithfulness to this program and for all the donations we have received to help these babies live.

05/03/2020

In April 2020 there were 23 babies on our baby formula program. In May there are 20 babies on our baby formula program, three successfully graduated off. We are ever grateful for the contributions from our family at Church by the Side of the Road and the donations from the Soroptimist club of South Seattle.

The Soroptomist Club of South Seattle were the first ones to begin funding of The Malawi Orphans Formula Fund.
I will forever be grateful to them and to Roxie Chapin, who first brought it to the club's attention. They have been faithful to give ever since.♡♡♡

I had promised everyone that I would return to Malawi. I did not know how or when but knew it would be in God's time. With great thanksgiving I did go on the July Mission trip to Malawi to follow up on the Malawi baby formula project. When I left I had just found out that the last babies on the plan had all graduated off of the plan. That was the first time that no one was on the plan. By August 18 there were 10 babies on the plan and by September 12, there were 13. So the baby formula project is in full swing and doing very well.
While in Malawi I was blessed to see 50 children who had been on the plan and were now big and strong and doing very well. I was so impressed with the turn out. I never expected that many families would take the time to come and see me and so I could get pictures of our graduates.
I had nothing to offer them and they all seemed so glad to be there. They all patiently waited for their turn to get their picture taken. I thanked them all and told them it was no accident that they were the ones to receive that life giving formula. I told them God chose each of them specifically to survive and thrive. God had a plan and a purpose for each child and for their caregivers, plans to prosper them, not to harm them, plans to give you a hope and a future. Please seek God with praise and thanksgiving so you can find that purpose He has for you. Its was truly a very moving time for all of us. I told them to share their story of the formula plan with others. Tell how the love of God had saved them and gave them hope. I asked them to tell others in need of our help so they too can save a starving baby.
I then told them they could go home that we were done. Instead of leaving they all clapped in unison which is a show of respect. I was very humbled and brought to tears. I told them it was not me who should get that applause but God who designed this and I was only a tool God used to get His will done.
Many them came forth to shake my hand and show their support. This formula program has opened so many doors and opportunities to make God's presence and blessings known in this area. To let them know God is there for them and all they need to do is to seek Him.
Thank you to those who have supported and prayed for the babies. Without you none of this would have been possible. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the Lord’s provision.
