We enjoyed a lovely end-of-the-year(s) celebration at South Fork last night in appreciation of all the staff, Board of Directors, and donors, that have helped our program grow since 2004. This video is a snapshot of memories and friends made over the years.

Are you ready to enjoy all that Spring has to offer and learn more about responsible foraging in our local forests? Then join us in this wildcrafting workshop for adults where we will learn about the natural history of lichens, mushrooms, and plants that can be locally foraged and used for dyeing!

We will work with several mature dye vats as we design and hand dye a silk scarf, tea towel, and enough wool yarn or roving to take home for a small project.

Participants will also make a new dye extraction to take home along with recipes and instructions for
future projects.

Space is limited so grab your spot soon!

We hope that you can discover the joy and wonder of nature with those you love and cherish, today and every day ✨

The holidays feel most magical when experienced through the eyes of a child — the same is true of nature. Take some time for some nature connection today. You can channel childlike wonder by tuning in to nature’s sights, sounds and smells, or just share a walk, picnic or nap in the outdoors with some of your favorite people.

Image description – Quote from “Last Child in the Woods,” by author and Children & Nature Network co-founder Richard Louv: “By letting our children lead us to their own special places, we can rediscover the joy and wonder of nature.”

SLOW DOWN, LOOK UP 👆🐌✨

At a time when Mother Nature is slowing down (in the Northern Hemisphere), our society paradoxically speeds up. Rooting to a slower, more nature-bonded rhythm in the beginning of the month helps me find my center and peace throughout the entire holiday season.

I've created The seven-day, FREE Slow Down, Look Up Challenge to help you root to that slower, more intentional pace. And to help you and your family find connection in the chaos.
