💔 Forever in Our Hearts: Boomer (1996 – 2026) 🌈

“Mr. Impossible not to love.” Show name “Press Play”

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Boomer. He wasn’t just a horse; he was our ambassador, a volunteer trainer, our festive reindeer horse, and the ultimate calm in any chaos, occasionally the cause of a little mischief and master of the side eye. He was pure sunshine and the greatest lover of all treats, great and small. 🦄✨

Boomer lived a beautiful, deeply loved life, and we are forever grateful to have been a part of his story. In his younger years, he was well-known on the hunter-jumper circuit, strutting his stuff and knowing exactly how special he was. 🏅

As time went on, Boomer transitioned into a role that shaped countless lives. He held a massive piece of his girl Kathryn’s heart, and later became a foundational rock for the youngsters and everyone at the Illinois Equine Humane Center. 🐴❤️

Thank you, Boomer. You are loved beyond measure, and your legacy will live on in every life you touched here.

Run free, sweet boy. We hope you are munching on unlimited green grass over the rainbow bridge with Ash and Reggie. 🌾✨

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day — the chores, the mucking/picking, barn and pasture maintenance, horsecare, the endless to-do list. And then, every once in a while, something stops you in your tracks and reminds you of the big picture. Your reason.

Today, that reminder was seeing Premier Approval (barn name Remi) happy, healthy, and grazing alongside his best bud. 🥹❤️

Remi is a 2006 Illinois-bred OTTB gelding. And if you swipe to the last photo, you’ll see where his story with us began — our very first picture of him being picked up from the feed lot in October of last year.

From that horse… to this horse.

These are the moments that remind us why we keep showing up. ❤️

Thank you all for making that possible 🤍
