Sept 22 open house.

Design work began in 2025 for the new Eagle Lake Regional Trail, which will travel through the cities of Plymouth and Minnetonka and will be located within the public right-of-way along Plymouth Road, South Frontage Road and Hopkins Crossroad/Zachary Lane.

The draft design for the trail is now available, and you're invited to join us for a public open house to view the design, ask questions and share your feedback.

The open house will be Tuesday, September 22 from 5–7 p.m. in the Minnehaha Room at Minnetonka City Hall, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka.

The new multi-use regional trail will be paved and off the road, and it will provide safe connections to community amenities and the broader regional trail network. Construction will take place in 2027. ThreeRiversParks.link/LetsTalkEagleLake

Our Eagle Lake/Shingle Creek watershed and others like it up and down the U.S. are part of the Mississippi River flyway. During this crucial migration time, please consider keeping outdoor night lighting to a minimum. 🦅

Abandoned Loon Eggs

These were blown in last night with a Loon on them as they travelled to the South Bay.

I watched the Loon leave as the bog hit the dock. Checked this morning, no Loons.

Called MN Wildlife rescue and they said that they are not allowed by law to work with Loons as they are the State Bird.

Called the DNR and spoke to the person in charge of Loons. Raising Loons in captivity is very hard. This occurred naturally so they are going to do nothing.

Legally, we citizens are not allowed to do anything either.

Since the eggs were left overnight unattended I suspect that they are no longer viable.

It saddens me that this is how our state treats their bird.
