"Organization Voice — Mission‑Driven & Community‑Focused". We are proud to share that our CEO, Monica Stelmack, has been appointed to the San Joaquin Council of Governments’ Social Service Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC).While Wide Horizons inc. began as a way to create meaningful opportunities for Danny, the mission quickly grew to serve many more young adults across our community. Today, our programs empower neurodiverse adults through vocational training, independent living skills, and community integration — helping them build confidence, independence, and brighter futures.
This appointment reflects Monica’s dedication to expanding that impact even further. Transportation remains one of the greatest challenges faced by the individuals we serve. As part of SSTAC, Monica will work alongside community leaders to identify unmet transit needs and help shape solutions that improve access, remove barriers, and support greater inclusion throughout San Joaquin County.
We are grateful for this opportunity to bring the voices and experiences of our participants and families to a broader platform. Together, we will continue opening doors and building pathways to independence for our community.
Monica Stelmack, CEO of Wide Horizons Inc., is now on the San Joaquin Council of Governments’ (SJCOG) Social Service Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC).
SSTAC members advise the SJCOG Board of Directors on unmet transit needs and other major transit issues, including the coordination and consolidation of specialized transportation services. The California Public Utilities Code says transportation planning agencies such as SJCOG will recruit candidates from a broad range of social service and transit providers representing the elderly, disabled, and people of limited means with geographic and minority representation.
Stelmack oversees the nonprofit with a core mission to empower neurodiverse adults through vocational training, independent living skills, and community integration to increase confidence, independence, and access to employment opportunities.
Join us in welcoming her to SSTAC!
