It made perfect sense.
This wasnโt just a field trip. It was a seat at the table.
This week, BGCM kids and teens with an interest in culinary arts stepped behind the scenes at one of San Franciscoโs most talked-about restaurants, touring the space, sharing a meal, and spending time with Chef , owner of and the Michelin-starred Sorrel.
For two hours, Chef Hong answered questions, shared his story, talked about the realities of building a career in hospitality, and gave our Club Kids an unfiltered look at what it takes to operate at the highest level of the industry.
No stage. No presentation. No script.
Just Club Kids with questions and a Chef at the top of his craft willing to answer every single one of them.
Thatโs the kind of access that changes perspective.
Because when a teen says theyโre interested in culinary, entrepreneurship, technology, sports, music, or the arts, they deserve more than a Google search. They deserve opportunities to learn from the best people actually doing it.
A huge thank you to Chef Alex Hong and the entire Arquet team for creating an experience our teens wonโt forget anytime soon.
The future feels a lot closer when youโre sitting across the table from it.
