River Islands Technology Academy students put their health lesson into action during Taste and Learn! From learning about California-grown apples and healthy food choices to practicing kitchen safety, students got hands-on before creating their own delicious Apple Slice Cookies.

With apples, sun butter, coconut flakes, and mini chocolate chips, students turned simple ingredients into a fun treat they could enjoy! 🍎🥥🍫

Our students brought some extra excitement to PE with a game of Shark Attack! Students took turns being the “shark” underneath the parachute, sneaking around to surprise their friends and choosing who would become the next shark. 💙

🍁 Learning, creating, and exploring at Spark Academy’s Fall Camp!

Throughout Fall Camp, students stayed engaged with hands-on activities, including creating wind chimes with beads and string, enjoying outdoor chalk art, and working together on a special Fall Camp sign 🎨☀️

They also learned about pollution and the impact it can have on the air we breathe, the environment around us, and the plants and animals that share our communities. Students then turned their learning into creative posters highlighting the importance of caring for our environment 🌎♻️

🍎🌱 Learning, creating, and tasting at Epic Academy!

During a recent Health Education Taste & Learn Lesson, students explored all things apples, from how apple trees grow to the nutritional benefits packed into this favorite fruit. Then, they brought the lesson to life by creating their own Apple Slice Cookies!

👟💙 Walking in Each Other’s Shoes at Spark Academy

Spark Academy students took part in a meaningful lesson all about empathy and understanding others. Through a creative “walking in each other’s shoes” activity, students drew their own shoes while talking about emotions, how we work through our feelings, and why it’s important to consider what someone else may be experiencing.

Activities like this help create space for students to express themselves, listen to one another, and practice kindness and understanding. Every conversation is an opportunity to build stronger connections and remind our students that empathy can make a big difference! 💙👟

🏠🧠 Building strong houses and strong minds at STEAM Academy!

Our students took on two hands-on learning experiences! In one activity, they designed and built their dream houses, experimenting with different structures to see what made their creations strong and durable.

For their mindfulness lesson, students explored how the brain helps us focus, regulate emotions, and respond to challenging moments. They learned about the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex, along with neuroplasticity and the incredible ability of our brains to grow and change through our experiences.

From testing structures to strengthening self-awareness and resilience, our STEAM students are learning that growth happens in so many ways! 💙✨

Our Spark Academy students had a tasty time during their latest health lesson, Taste and Learn, and learning that a fun treat can include simple, wholesome ingredients! They made their own Apple Slice Cookies using:
