THIS IS ONLY A DRILL!!!
Chelan EMS, Chelan Fire & Rescue, and Manson Fire personnel are involved in a 'Mass Casualty Incident' in Chelan.

These training scenarios involving multiple agencies help each agency and personnel in cooperative training from command level to response and treatment. Training like this builds good foundation for large incident response involving multiple agencies.

Again, this is only training! Working with local schools and community help to make this more realistic as they act as our mock victims.

It is our hope that we never have to respond to an MCI, but we train to be efficient if the call ever comes in!

FIRE INCIDENT!!! Entiat, WA 1/28/2026 @ 10pm. Large commercial fire with explosions reported in Entiat has closed one lane of traffic on Highway 97A. 2nd alarm response requested with units from around the region responding. If traveling SR 97A between Wenatchee and Chelan, be aware of traffic congestion or possible complete road closure for this incident. Please avoid the area. If traveling, use Highway 97 from East Wenatchee through Orondo. Please yield to emergency responders.

Several accidents in the region have impacted travel this morning.

Currently, accidents on both highway 97 near Daroga Park in Orondo and Highway 97A north of the Tunnel near Chelan have shut down both highways. Traffic detours for Highway 97 and 97A have not been identified at this time.

Recommended that those wishing to travel north or on south Highway 97 may need to use Pine Canyon to Waterville and MacNiel Canyon or Brdgeport Hill Rd. 97A traffic, the best route would be to use Navarre Coulee Road/Highway 971.

The severity of these two incidents means currently there is no determination on when either highways will open.

Travel has been impacted by slick and icy conditions, so if you are traveling today, be cautious of these conditions.

On this day, we give thanks to those who have fought for the freedoms of this nation and of this world. Our Veterans earned a great gratitude from all people who make up this nation of freedom due to their sacrifices and service for the United States of America.

Your Manson and Chelan firefighters have a practice burn in Manson near downtown.

This burn allows firefighters to learn essential skills for structural firefighting and learn fire behavior.

The burn is expected to last until mid-afternoon. If you see a column of smoke above the downtown corridor, it is staffed by fire crews.

Today, a little before 1:00pm, your Manson Firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire inside a group of standing trees near the Colville Fuels Stop.

On arrival, fire was found contained the the area of the trees in a field just north of Collbille Fuels. Arriving units were able to quickly stop fire progression. Cause of fire is under investigation.
