Manson Grange #796

Manson Grange #796 The purpose of this page is to bring accurate and up to date information about the Manson Grange to In 1930 a vote was taken to build a new Grange Hall.

The National Grange was established on December 4, 1867 in Washington, D.C. Their Declaration of Purposes addressed a need for unity and civil discourse: “We shall constantly strive to secure harmony, good will, and brotherhood. We shall earnestly endeavor to suppress personal, local, sectional, and national prejudices. We desire a proper equality, and fairness; protection for the weak; restraint

upon the strong; in short, justly distributed power.” These words still guide the Grange today. Manson Grange #796 was organized on April 3, 1923 and boasted 48 members. This was an active group and early projects included preparing a float for the Wenatchee Apple Blossom Parade and a program for the Manson Apple Blossom celebration. Potlucks were held at each meeting, which were held in the Manson Library. The current site of the Manson Grange Hall was purchased in 1936 through community donations and the property was paid in full in two years. In March 1947 the basement was dug and on April 3, 1948 the new Grange Hall was dedicated. Today the Manson Grange remains active in our community. In 1981 the Grange established a Farmers Market that take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the spring and summer months. The Manson Grange’s main source of income comes from rental of the Grange Hall. There are two floors and the top floor has a stage. The lower floor has a large meeting area and a commercial kitchen. The Grange Hall is perfect for numerous activities such as public forums, fund raising events, dance classes, Christmas parties, memorials, weddings, private parties and so much more. Contact Sue Lesneister to make a reservation or learn more about our rental policy and cost. You can become a member of the Manson Grange for just $46 a year and there are many volunteer opportunities available. Join us at our monthly meeting the 4th Tuesday of each month starting at 7:00 PM in the Grange Hall.

April is Grange Month. It is an opportunity to celebrate the service, leadership, and community spirit that define the Grange. The Grange is often associated with farming—and while our roots are proudly agricultural, our purpose has always been much broader. From the beginning, the Grange was built on principles of strong character, community service, and active citizenship.
Those values are woven into everything we do. Today’s Grange continues to honor its agricultural heritage while serving as a place where people come together to strengthen their community, support one another, and respond to the needs of each generation.
The Grange is not just for farmers—it’s for anyone who cares about building a thriving, connected community.

We had a wonderful time meeting with our friends from the Pomona Grange in Wenatchee! After sharing updates on local Grange activities, we enjoyed a potluck and the opportunity to connect and strengthen friendship.
The spirit of community, cooperation, and service continues to unite us as Grangers. Together we honor the strength and character of those who built the Grange while working to keep its mission meaningful for our communities today.
A Pomona Grange brings several local Granges together regionally to share resources, ideas, and support for educational, legislative, and community efforts.
Participants included(not all pictured):
Phyllis Coleman, Terrie Carleton, Daniel Avery, Gordan Lester, Bill Cagle, Anne Koenig, Dianne Cook, Debbie Fisch, Dan McCroskey, Mark Fisch, Debbie Conwell, Mr. and Mrs. Auvil, Paul Gray, and Larry Cook.
The next Manson Grange Meeting will be March 24th.
