Jolie is back! Talk about a 5-year-old volunteer with a big heart for her community!

After waiting all winter for warmer weather, Jolie was excited to get back to her favorite park and help make it cleaner and more beautiful. During her cleanup, she picked up 25 pieces of litter, mostly fast food wrappers and cups!

Small actions make a big difference, and Jolie is proof that you’re never too young to care for your community. Way to go, Jolie! 🌍👏💚

Yesterday was National Oceans Day and the KMB team wants to remind you that every piece of litter prevented, every can or bottle recycled, and every cleanup effort makes a difference. 🌊

Our oceans sustain life, support incredible biodiversity, and connect communities around the world — including here in Massachusetts. Together, we can help protect our waterways, coastlines, and marine ecosystems for generations to come.

According to the nonprofit Oceana, an estimated 33 million pounds of plastic enter the marine environment every year. That’s roughly equivalent to dumping two garbage trucks full of plastic into the oceans every minute.

During last week’s Talking Trash and Recycling presentation to staff at the New England Aquarium, we discussed the global challenge of plastic pollution, how we manage waste and recycling here in Massachusetts, and steps that everyone can take to manage waste and recycling correctly.

Thanks for all the New England Aquarium does to educate people about the importance of protecting our marine environment.

Today is the perfect day to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty that Massachusetts has to offer. Whether you're hiking a favorite trail, picking up litter along the way, volunteering with a local cleanup, or simply spending time in nature, every small action helps protect the outdoor spaces we all love.

Thank you to the amazing team of 40+ volunteers from Fidelity Investments who joined us on May 28 to clean up Allen Park in Dorchester and the surrounding neighborhood. Together, we removed 330 pounds of litter!

We also appreciated visits from Senator Nick Collins, as well as the principal of the nearby Mather School, which Fidelity has supported through its Fidelity Cares Program for many years.
