Thank you to the 300-plus volunteers who turned out for the 19th annual Great Mansfield Cleanup on Saturday, April 25th.

Together, we removed approximately 2.5 tons of unsightly trash, litter, and debris from Mansfield's roadsides and other public spaces.

Earlier in the week, several volunteers from Mansfield's ICONICS and Samsonite business offices filled and removed 50 more bags plus some large metal pieces.

Senator Paul Feeney joined the post-cleanup picnic on the Mansfield South Common, where he addressed volunteers and spoke about his efforts to launch a statewide litter prevention and cleanup task force.

The volunteers enjoyed a post-cleanup pizza party on the South Common as a THANK YOU for their work. Lawn games, provided by Mansfield Parks & Recreation, added fun for all.

We'd like to give a shout out to Tom Amsterburg for taking amazing photos of the cleanup. Mansfield DPW for all their hard work and Mansfield Fire and Police for pitching in as well.

You know spring has arrived in Mansfield when the Main Street flower barrel program begins! 🌸🌷

KMB volunteers prepped the barrels, and DPW will be placing them on Tuesday.

This is just the beginning to beautifying Mansfield in 2026! The next, VERY IMPORTANT, step is the Great Mansfield Cleanup.

Yesterday, volunteers from Samsonite here in Mansfield gave Route 140 a thorough spring cleaning. Together, we removed approximately 1,250 pounds of litter and trash (despite the unexpected April heat).

Earth Day is Coming!
Learn How to Become a Better Recycler

Are you confused about what goes in your trash bin and what goes in your recycling bin? You’re not alone!

Attend our Talking Trash & Recycling presentation on Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Jenny Copeland House at 53 Rumford Avenue in Mansfield. This event will be hosted by the Natural Resources Trust of Mansfield and is free to the public.

Learn what happens to your trash and recyclables here in Mansfield. You will also learn ways to reduce the amount of trash you generate, improve your recycling habits, and make easy changes to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

This interactive program is delivered in 40 minutes, with 20 additional minutes for questions, answers, and discussion.
