A Week of Growth, Conviction, and a Calling to Stand Firm.
Our Executive Director, Candace Cole, had the opportunity to attend the National Christian Conference on Sexual Explotation, while also celebrating a significant accomplishment—graduating as a Certified Peer Support Specialist of Exploitation (CPSE) through the Institute for Survivor Care
This certification was no easy task. It required dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to be stretched. But we know that growth often happens in the uncomfortable places.
Throughout the conference, the breakout sessions and keynote speakers addressed difficult topics, challenged perspectives, brought tears, and filled her cup in ways that were deeply needed.
One statement from Dr. Jeanne Allert of the Institute for Survivor Care stood out:
“We cannot bow down to the mob.”
What a powerful reminder of the importance of standing firm in Scripture, even when doing so is uncomfortable.
We cannot allow the desire for acceptance, the pressure of the world, or opportunities that come with strings attached to compromise what God has called us to do.
Our calling is to obey Christ, not the crowd. We are not called to follow the next trend, but to remain faithful to the truth.
At Rubies, we believe that leadership requires continued learning, humility, courage, and a willingness to stand firm in our convictions while serving others with compassion.
We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and excited to see the knowledge, wisdom, and renewed perspective Candace brings back to our team, the women we serve, and our community without backing down that Jesus is the answer ultimately.
Because when our leaders grow, our mission grows stronger.
