Our Chapter 19 Muskie Maniacs Youth Education Fishing Event will be Saturday Aug. 29th from 9am at ODNR District 3 Offices- 912 Portage Lakes Drive. For all youth -ages 15 and under. Rods Bait Tackle and Lunch will be provided.

Saltfork chapter challunge results... it's becoming tradition that when we have an event or a tournament there has to be some sort of exciting weather LOL 40 people participated 10 fish caught the winning chapter was 23 Cleveland, Nicole Emerick managed to get two fish a 39 and a 34.5 the big fish pool went to Guy Bechter with a 41 incher, other fish caught were Eric Morris 38.75 Syl Trunkett 33.25 Darrin Charpie 32.5, Chris Haley 34.25, Bill Shaffer 35 Dustin hoy 31.25 and Jacob Davis 32, thanks to everybody who stopped in at the shore lunch ... Moga roasts a mean dog.... congratulations to the winners and to everybody who helped out, also thanks to Shane for the fabulous Friday night fish fry, it was a good time despite our Weatherly ups and downs..... it was great to see everyone

FYI...

Sexing a muskellunge (muskie) is done by examining the external urogenital opening (vent) located on the underside of the fish, just ahead of the a**l fin.Female: The vent area is larger (to accommodate BB-sized eggs) and resembles a pear or a figure-8 shape.Male: The vent is smaller and resembles a keyhole shape (similar to an older skeleton-key lock).This external identification is highly reliable for sexually mature muskies, which are typically 30-36 inches long for females and 28-31 inches for males. For smaller or juvenile fish, the vent shapes are much harder to distinguish.Because muskies are apex predators and highly prized sport fish, they endure a lot of stress when caught. If you are examining a live fish, always keep it in a catch-and-release cradle in the water, minimize handling time, and be incredibly gentle when supporting the fish to turn it over for inspection.

All muskies Inc members and chapters encouraged to attend !!..., there's going to be a fish fry on Friday night, section g and a s h o r e lunch at noon Saturday at the old salt Fork South ramp hot food, cold beverages, prizes, raffles, musky talk and a whole lot of fun, that lake has plenty of room for everyone, this is a great annual event looking forward to seeing you,
NO ENTRY FEE.... just bring a covered dish or side to contribute to our cookout, optional Big Fish pool. Come on out and fish with us.

Tickets available soon from chapter 19 members or they will be available at the Salt Fork chapter challenge in June. Lots of good stuff to be had in this assortment, $1,400 value.
