AfterSchool Bible

AfterSchool Bible Support for afterschool is overwhelming and demand is growing. There are various great afterschool programs out there: sports, arts, music. Praise the Lord!

More than anything, our children and youth need the Savior and their spiritual education, and more often than not, they don't get it at home or school, or from the world. Nationwide, 9 in 10 adults say afterschool programs are important to their community, and more than 19 million kids are waiting to get in. Decades of research prove afterschool helps kids attend school more often, get better grad

es, and build fundamental skills, like communication, teamwork and problem solving. But how about one that has an eternal value: -an AfterSchool Bible program? -to offer Bible classes, conferences and retreats to students and parents? It should be an option available for our children and youth. I believe it will help prevent and solve various youth issues and crimes like smoking, drug addiction, teen pregnancy and even school shootings! America is founded on Christian values, it should not be an issue offering a Bible curriculum to our children and youth, even just an afterschool option. Our youth need the Savior and their spiritual education more than anything, and more often than not, they don't get it at home or school, or from the world. Just received today from the IRS the 501c3 federal determination for my faith-based non-profit: Bethany Homes Ministry! Excited! My son is a junior at Lexington High. I am praying for him and his classmates. May the Lord have a breakthrough in this campus as a start for our AfterSchool Bible program. I am planning on a Gospel Cook-out at 7100 Cty Rd, Lexington, just 8 minutes from the school... My friends, please pray with me..

Enjoy this compilation of children's songs. Let's have our own children's meeting at our own homes with our kids and their friends. We teach them about God and the Bible while they are young. These were recorded at the height of the pandemic when we could not meet. Now we can use them anytime and anywhere. Even if you're not a teacher by profession, if you have a burden for the next generation, just plug them in front of the tv, computer or your phone, and they surely will follow and sing along!

Love her! Love her name: Bethany! It's so sweetly emotional. The Word should be inscribed in our hearts. I remember when I recited all chapters of Hebrews, 30 years ago when I attended the Life & Truth training in the Philippines! We should encourage our young people to memorize not just verses, but chapters and books of the Bible!

What book could you be reading here? Hmm, I'm envisioning to create cozy reading nooks like this at our schoolhouse at Grace St, and hold Bible Reading Retreats for our children and youth. Would you send your child here?

2021 Bible Through the Year Day 7. Jan 7
Matthew 6:1–18 /Take Time to Behold Him

1 But take care not to do your righteousness before men in order to be gazed at by them; otherwise, you have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens.
2 Therefore when you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full.
3 But you, when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 So that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full.
6 But you, when you pray, enter into your private room, and shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
7 And in praying do not babble empty words as the Gentiles do; for they suppose that in their multiplicity of words they will be heard.
8 Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows the things that you have need of before you ask Him.
9 You then pray in this way: Our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified;
10 Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
14 For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will forgive you also;
15 But if you do not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.
16 And when you fast, do not be like the sullen-faced hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full.
17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
18 So that you may not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Take time to behold Him, Speak oft with Thy Lord,
Abide in Him always, And feed on His Word.
Wait thou in His presence, Submissive and meek,
Forgetting in nothing, His blessing to seek.
Take time to behold Him, The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret, With Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, Like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends, in thy conduct, His likeness shall see.
Take time to behold Him, Let Him be thy guide;
And run not before Him, Whatever betide;
In joy or in sorrow, Still follow thy Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, Still trust in His word.
Take time to behold Him, Be calm in thy soul
Each thought and each temper, Beneath His control
Thus led by His Spirit, To fountain of love
Thou then shalt be fitted, His mercy to prove.

Matthew 5:17-48/ A Higher View

17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill.
18 For truly I say to you, Until heaven and earth pass away, one iota or one serif shall by no means pass away from the law until all come to pass.
19 Therefore whoever annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called the least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever practices and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.
20 For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
21 You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ``You shall not murder, and whoever murders shall be liable to the judgment.''
22 But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the judgment of the Sanhedrin; and whoever says, Moreh, shall be liable to the Gehenna of fire.
23 Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you,
24 Leave your gift there before the altar, and first go and be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
25 Be well disposed quickly toward your opponent at law, while you are with him on the way, lest the opponent deliver you to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
26 Truly I say to you, You shall by no means come out from there until you pay the last quadrans.
27 You have heard that it was said, ``You shall not commit adultery.''
28 But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 So if your right eye stumbles you, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.
30 And if your right hand stumbles you, cut it off and cast it from you, for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to pass away into Gehenna.
31 And it was said, Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.
32 But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries her who has been divorced commits adultery.
33 Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ``You shall not break an oath, but you shall render to the Lord your oaths.''
34 But I tell you not to swear at all; neither by heaven, because it is the throne of God;
35 Nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of His feet; nor unto Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King;
36 Neither shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
37 But let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no; for anything more than these is of the evil one.
38 You have heard that it was said, ``An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.''
39 But I tell you not to resist him who is evil; rather whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And to him who wishes to sue you and take your tunic, yield to him your cloak also;
41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
42 To him who asks of you, give; and from him who wants to borrow from you, do not turn away.
43 You have heard that it was said, ``You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.''
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,
45 So that you may become sons of your Father who is in the heavens, because He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you greet only your brothers, what better thing are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
48 You therefore shall be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

1. Prod me with Your loving hands,
Stir me from my deep impasse.
I long to flee this stagnant rut;
My soul, my prison, deadened lot,
Which end is just to taste Your wrath;
So set me on the narrow path.
Thorns and thistles may line this road
But it leads me to the mutual abode.
2. Lift me up with Your mighty hand
Above this frenzied earthly land.
Set me on the mount to see
What the world can offer me;
Till I see the vanity from on high
And earthly desires I bid goodbye
And set my eyes on You.

Matthew 5:1–16/ Just Love Him

1 And when He saw the crowds, He went up to the mountain. And after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.
2 And opening His mouth, He taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
11 Blessed are you when they reproach and persecute you, and while speaking lies, say every evil thing against you because of Me.
12 Rejoice and exult, for your reward is great in the heavens; for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt has become tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything except to be cast out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city situated upon a mountain to be hidden.
15 Nor do men light a lamp and place it under the bushel, but on the lampstand; and it shines to all who are in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.

Hear the Lord, He’s calling onward;
Heed His Word, His cry is upward.
Each day we climb a little higher;
To carry on we need to take a deeper breath.
See the Lord is not far from you;
He will not only bear it with you.
No need to struggle any longer;
He wants to be the very one to take your place.
All we need is in the breath—
Love and light, peace and rest.
Count the cost, pay the price,
Receive the gift of eternal life.
Call, “Oh Lord!” Let Him in and just love Him.
The ordinary’s what He’s after;
However small to Him, it matters.
To be your all He’s more than willing;
Only requires us to lean on the Beloved.
Day by day we grow into Christ,
Permeated at the speed of life.
Get more God, be more human;
Let His light shine from within.
More of Him, we decrease—
This our blessed destiny,
To reign in life as His Bride; we just love Him

2021 Bible Through the Year -Day 4. Jan.4
Matthew 4 /Man Lives Not by Bread Alone

1 Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He became hungry.
3 And the tempter came and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, speak that these stones may become loaves of bread.
4 But He answered and said, It is written, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.’’
5 Then the devil took Him into the holy city and set Him on the wing of the temple,
6 And said to Him, If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down; for it is written, “To His angels He shall give charge concerning You, and on their hands they shall bear You up, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.’’
7 Jesus said to him, Again, it is written, “You shall not test the Lord your God.’’
8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 And he said to Him, All these will I give You if You will fall down and worship me.
10 Then Jesus said to him, Go away, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’’
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
12 Now when He heard that John was delivered up, He withdrew into Galilee.
13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is beside the sea in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 In order that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light; and to those sitting in the region and shadow of death, to them light has risen.’’
17 From that time Jesus began to proclaim and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.
18 And while He was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
19 And He said to them, Come after Me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And immediately leaving the nets, they followed Him.
21 And going on from there, He saw another two brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.
22 And immediately leaving the boat and their father, they followed Him.
23 And Jesus went about in all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24 And the report concerning Him went out into all of Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those afflicted with various diseases and torments and those possessed by demons and epileptics and paralytics; and He healed them.
25 And great crowds followed Him from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.
