Today, the Northern Ohio CISM Team recognizes and celebrates Team Leader Jim Eggeman as he prepares to step back from the team on September 28, 2026, after 20 years of dedicated service.
During those two decades, Jim served on several different CISM teams and helped establish two teams—an enduring contribution to critical incident stress support for first responders and others who serve their communities.
His retirement from the team also marks another milestone in a lifetime of public service that includes 30 years in law enforcement that he retired from in 2021. Jim’s leadership, commitment, and compassion have made a lasting difference for countless colleagues and communities across Northern Ohio.
As Jim steps back, Alan Edwards of the Mansfield Police Department will assume the position of Team Coordinator. We welcome Alan to this leadership role and look forward to the team’s continued service under his coordination.
Please join us in thanking Jim for his remarkable service and in wishing him all the best in retirement. Your impact will continue to be felt for years to come. Congratulations, Jim, and thank you for everything!

Thoughts and Prayers going out to the Rittman Police Department, the Wayne County and Medina County Sheriff’s Offices, and K9 Vic ( who was also shot). Pray for the family of the fallen Rittman officer, all first responders, including the dispatchers who answered those difficult calls and experienced that horrible radio traffic, the families of the other two victims, as they face the aftermath of this tragedy.

This is a heartbreaking and devastating situation that has forever changed so many lives. Such a tragic tragedy for everyone involved.
