It was such a joy to visit Ms. Season Johnson’s BRAVO- supported Reading Mentors program!! In addition to observing, I was also privileged to converse with the 6th graders & high school participants. They all spoke favorably about their involvement in the program; agreed the program should continue next year; & that they would recommend high schooler volunteers to get involved! The 6th graders eagerly suggested ideas about how to make the program “even better.” Seeing them & their high school mentors reading books together & engaging in conversation about its content was so impressive, exciting, & served to affirm the benefit of Bravo’s mission to promote & support teacher innovation & enhanced learning opportunities for all students in Clarendon County. Kudos teacher & students for a job well-done!!

BRAVO Ms. Mongold & your students!👏👏💐It was such a joy to observe you on Friday at MECC put the Level Up Village Global Sound Artists program into action!! This enhanced learning experience made possible through the Bravo Teacher Grant program “introduces students to the science of sound & the exploration of music through hands-on investigations & experiments, instrument builds, & communicating with a partner class in another country!” It was exciting to see these students able to communicate with children in Zambia through their class made videos; explore sound & vibrations through experimentation; then watch them see, hear, & feel how that knowledge can translate into the creation of simple instrumentation. I can’t wait to see the Japanese Spinning Drums your students create from recycled materials!! Thank you for putting in the extra time & effort required to bring this type of innovation & enhanced learning into your classroom, Ms. Mongold. We are pleased & proud to support your efforts!!
