Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park MHHP is comprised of an authentic German Hausbarn, historic Trinity Church, & Leet/Hassler Farmstead.

The centerpiece of the Manning Community Foundation is its beautiful Hausbarn Heritage Park, a location packed with attractions that will take visitors back in time and give them a glimpse of what 'would have been' had their ancestors not made the courageous voyage from Germany across the Atlantic and then some. The Manning Community Foundation is an Iowa non-profit corporation established under S

ection 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization was created almost three decades ago primarily to preserve the German-American culture in the community of Manning, Iowa. Manning was founded in 1881 by immigrants from the Schleswig-Holstein area of northwest Germany. The activities of the Foundation are numerous and are always directed toward cultivating the social, cultural and economic contributions of the thousands of German settlers that migrated to this great country. Just as those early immigrants labored to claim their future, the Manning Community Foundation is working hard to claim and memorialize our past. We invite you to browse the website and learn more about our unique offerings, specifically our 350-yr old authentic German Hausbarn, brought over from Germany. We'll tell you how it got here, what it was used for and what life was like in Germany in the 1600's. Step back into the elate 1800's and take a look at the historical Trinity Church, or the early 1900's and see what living on a rural farmstead might have been like at the Leet/Hassler Farmstead. Take a tour of the Konferenz Centre, which boasts a large hall, tavern and restaurant dining room available for weddings, business meetings and other special events. What an incredible day at Hooves to Horsepower at the Manning Hausbarn Heritage Park!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event such a success. To the Teamsters, tractor exhibitors, hit & miss engine exhibitors, competition judges, volunteers, sponsors, and all those who shared their time, talents, equipment, and stories — thank you for helping bring history to life for our community.

A special thank you to everyone who attended, supported the event, enjoyed the displays, food, competitions, and activities, and helped create such a fun atmosphere throughout the day. Seeing generations come together to celebrate our agricultural and rural heritage is what makes events like this so meaningful.

We are truly grateful for the continued support of the community and everyone who helped make Hooves to Horsepower a memorable experience. We couldn’t do it without you!

We spent this afternoon putting the final touches on our **Historic Local Business Display** in the Glen Haven Barn on the Farmstead, and we are excited to share it with you!

Step back in time and explore a unique collection of memorabilia and displays celebrating the businesses and entrepreneurs that helped shape our community’s history.

🌺 Celebrate Plant a Flower or Plant Day with Us at the Hausbarn Heritage Park!

🌺 The weather is warming up, it means one thing in Manning… Bloom into Spring as we get ready for Summer festivities, weddings, and events!

🌺 Each year, beautiful array of colorful flowering baskets and Flower pots are planted, and perennial flowers are added. In honor of Plant a Flower Day we’re inviting our community and alumni to consider to help support adding beauty to the Park.

🌼🌸🌺 Financial contributions will go toward the purchase of flowers, plants and hardscapes. Your support helps keep the park looking vibrant, welcoming, and full of life for the community, alumni, and visitors to enjoy.

🌳 Please consider to support our tree project. Contact the office for more details to consider to plant a tree in memory or honor of a loved one.
