Who’s in the mood for some fall squash soup? We know we are!
Join us this upcoming Sunday at Jackson park for a FREE lunch with your community! All welcome, no questions asked! We’ll have soup made with local butternut squash, some salty focaccia, and plenty else that community members bring to contribute! We’re still looking for donations (peep our last post!) and the meal is a great place to drop these off! Grab a bowl, drop off if you have anything, and greet those in your community!

Food Not Bombs, Mankato is seeking in-kind donations! What does this look like? Provide what you're able - travel-sized products you won't use, bonus snacks you have sitting around, extra winter gear, or new toothbrushes, socks, etc. Bring them to our next meal or meeting, or, if you're not able to, shoot us a message and we'll coordinate how to get it to us!

With a focus on solidarity, not charity, we want to facilitate neighbors helping neighbors. In times of need, it is the community that comes together. Give what you can and come for what you need - whether it's a warm pair of socks, a hot bowl of soup, hope inspired by community, or a good conversation.

Swipe for photos of the delish meal around 25 folks shared a week ago at our September pop up community meal! We had an abundance of sweets, treats, filling lentil soup, and friendly smiles for everyone in attendance! Join us for our regularly scheduled 3rd Sunday meal next week, or plan to pop in for our planning meeting October 3rd.

Join us today—and every 1st Saturday—for our monthly planning meeting! Curious about what happens at one a meeting? Not sure if you’d like to come? We value everyone who wants to help! Prepping, setting up, serving, and take down are all essential but behind the scenes we always need folks to share their voice, what could be done better, and be there to think of and step up for those little jobs that aren’t quite as obvious. We hope to see you for a meeting sometime!

What does homegrown tomatoes, donated food from local orgs, a little creativity, and many hands make? A successful meal with the community! We had a hearty and fresh southwest black bean chickpea salad, homemade tortilla chips, lots of fresh fruit, and a gorgeous day to enjoy it all this Sunday. Want to join in the fun? We’ll be back at Jackson Park on September 6th for a pop up meal. Want to help? Come to our meeting at the Blue Earth County Library the day before (Sept 5th) at noon in the conference room to learn of all the behind the scenes opportunities! Many hands make light work, everyone has different talents, and fostering community and building each other up is what makes us strong. 💪

Our first bonus community meal in July was such a success we’re doing it again! Join us on August 9th for nourishing and delicious food, good conversations, and community building. Feel free to bring a side to contribute, or just come ready to eat! We’ll see you there!

We had a great time sharing food and connection last Sunday with a delicious chickpea pasta salad! When we prepped food Saturday we also stocked tote bags with the community in-kind donations we received at Julia Hamann’s campaign launch party. These will head out with FnB members to be given to community members in need all month long. We want to be able to get supplies and support those who need it not only at our meal shares but throughout the month. We have additional need and are making a list for new in-kind donations that YOU can help with! Keep an eye out here on our social media, and as always, we welcome you to any of our upcoming events!

Join us for a delicious fresh pasta salad and sides this upcoming in Sunday at Jackson Park. As always, feel free to bring something to share out or community potluck or just your appetite! Plan ahead for August where we’d love to see you at our monthly meeting or one of our two opportunities to connect with food at Jackson Park.

When the world and weather so negatively impact folks it’s time, more than ever, to step up and check on your neighbors. This heat affects everyone, but especially those who might not have reliable indoor cooling. Sharing water and other means of hydration or cooling down can make a world of difference. In Mankato and need a place to cool off? Partners for Housing at 514 South Riverfront Dr. and the Salvation Army Day Shelter at 700 South Riverfront Dr. are providing resources and places to go.

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to partner with Julia (Julia Hamann for Mankato Mayor) and prepare food for her campaign launch party. We collected in-kind donations and are so thankful for the generosity of the community! With our mission of mutual aid, we will be connecting with folks who may not have easy access to these things like hygiene products, food, or hydration. This is community supporting community in action.
We are glad to partner with Julia as we focus on community, mutual aid, and solidarity in Mankato.
