Harvest activity has increased across the Upper Midwest as growers take advantage of favorable weather conditions. Soybean harvest has begun in some locations, with yields reported as variable depending on planting date, moisture and weather conditions throughout the growing season. Growers are monitoring grain moisture and field conditions closely and if favorable weather continues, harvest progress should accelerate over the next few weeks. Our St. Lawrence Seaway trade revitalization trade mission continued with port tours and seminars in Lisbon, Aveiro and Porto, Portugal, to discuss opportunities to utilize the Great Lakes for two-way trade focusing on U.S. agriculture.
